Another housing dump in the inner suburbs:

If more apartments go up in that area, starts to become a really strong argument for building SL3 to Sullivan (or Urban Rail to Lynn). Can't see much desire to ride the full length of SL3 every day.

Vale Street--which abuts this--also abuts Vero Chelsea (u/c) and Pioneer Everett (recently completed)... and is a 2-minute beeline walk to the SL stop and new Chelsea Commuter Rail Station. From 2019-2024, that's a net housing capacity increase of nearly 5,000 residents into transit-oriented development. Kudos to Chelsea & Everett--they're definitely punching above their weight to meet the region's housing needs.

Well... some of that is having a lot of industrial wasteland to develop with no residential neighbors to complain (and mostly historically underfranchised populations that don't have time or inclination to complain). Cambridge had/has an area like this at Alewife. Somerville has one in Boynton Yards and Brickbottom. Even Newton has one at the Northland site. All have lots of 5-on-1 apartments going up.

On Vale street next to stop and shop, building demolished
