I believe this would have been North Station given the person was there because of the OL shutdown. I also misunderstood them. It was one of the various people helping with the diversion that operated the key to close the door as they were departing, not the operator of the train itself. So it...
So I'm guessing you just don't have a response to Stlin's point about this still being a WIP? It's understandable that this thing looked like it might have been finished given the glacial rate of work being done, but there's no reason to be combative.
(And, to others, I understand how trolling...
I have a friend who is riding the Green Line today and mentioned that (as they were leaving the station) the operator got out of the train to close the front door via some sort of key in a lock located to the left of the front door. It's a Type 7 from what they say. Can anyone comment on why...
I kind of like it. It looks more like a truss bridge. It definitely makes the view more crowded, which doesn't work against all backdrops, but I can see it looking nice in some lights. Not sure how it's going to hold up. Maybe better, since there's less that's both in easy view and can get dirty?
What would the actual station siting be? I feel like between VFW Parkway and Gardner street would be best, as that gives the best access for those across the Parkway, and there's not much out the other direction other than industrial buildings. But in a theoretical future where TOD takes over...
Surely this is just because the stations are close together, and though the tracks could be rated for higher speeds you don't actually get much benefit from raising the top speed. If you could somehow put the Acela in those tunnels and ignore the track conditions, it might not be much faster...
Can I ask for a source on this, other than the fact that they're not on the current schedule? As others have stated, this could be work they can do during nightly shutdowns, or they're still trying to figure out a good place to fit another multiday shutdown in, or they're just planning to...
Create a new bridge connecting Charlestown to the North End, adding a new streetcar that connects various tourist destinations (Bunker Hill, USS Constitution, Quincy Market, BCEC) to transit more readily. Totally not the result of me trying to travel between the Seaport and Rowe's Wharf with a...
