    Portland International Jetport | PWM

Looks like 2x weekly on Thursdays and Sundays. I'll be honest I can't see that route doing too well. ISP has been one of the lowest load-factor routes for Breeze out of Portland (it was below 60% last year) and with AA resuming LGA there's already A LOT of lift to the NY market.

    General Portland Discussion

It seems like it will be very similar to what was proposed in 2017-2018. Like the previous proposal it will also be a "Home2" branded hotel with frontage on Fore and India Streets with a pocket park along Middle.

Now it's time to turn your influence towards that horrible carpet in the eastern side of the terminal! :p

    Thompson's Point, Portland

I’m hearing that the Thompsons Point team has teamed up with Cathartes Development based in Portsmouth, NH on a 6-story, 250ish unit residential project on the site. They intend to formally submit an application sometime in early July.

Tallest building in town, can you name the city?

Yes! Decker Towers in Burlington. The tallest in Vermont at 124 ft.

Tallest building in town, can you name the city?

This building has been the tallest in its city since 1970. At one point several years ago it seemed like it was going to be superseded in height by a new development.

Looking ahead at some peak summer schedules, we're definitely seeing the impacts of delivery delays from Boeing and Airbus. There are some small but notable frequency reductions in July and August Delta PWM-ATL is only 2x daily with 737-900's and A321's Traditionally it's 3x daily in the summer...

    Portland Passenger Rail

It would be huge for ridership to/from Brunswick. Eliminating that reversing move would make the DE basically time-competitive with driving to/from Brunswick and be a good option for commuters working at Mercy / MaineMed.

    Portland Passenger Rail

As I understand it...Amtrak is pushing to replace the DE's Amfleets with Horizons because they're very short of Amfleet coaches for the Northeast Corridor and they have an excess of Horizon coaches in their Chicago equipment pool.

Is the Horizon replacement a done deal? I recall NNEPRA staff not being supportive. The Horizon coaches are -technically- newer but generally seen as inferior from both an operational and rider perspective (as you mentioned) ....and the Airo trainsets are still 4-5 years away.

Will these gates be exclusive for American? If so we won't need to worry about 757's at those gates since AA sent all their 757's to the boneyard a few years ago. Seems like only DL sends 75's to PWM occasionally as equipment substitutes. Personally, I'd like to see United move to the western...

I assume gates 12-14 will be reconfigured to allow 737/A320 sized aircraft to use those stands? Right now those stands are only large enough for CRJ's and E-Jets. (To my knowledge) I also assume this is intended to be a medium-term solution until the terminal is fully extended westward?

Rock Row (née The Ridge, née Dirigo Plaza) | Westbrook, ME

I think we're actually starting to see an increase in demand for office space. Most companies have adopted a hybrid schedule and only about 15-20% of the workforce is able to be fully remote. The downtown office vacancy rate is back down to where it was circa 2018. It's also interesting that...

Don't Montreal and Toronto-Pearson have US Customs preclearance facilities? In that instance international flights arriving from those airports would essentially arrive as domestic flights....no FIS required.

I wouldn't fly Spirit or Frontier myself unless I was really in a pinch, but more competition means more seats and lower fares for all so I wouldn't say no if they entered the Portland market :)

Not exactly the kind of "new air handler" to get excited about at the Jetport. ;) Hopefully the next "new air handler" has a name like Spirit or Alaska :p

Rock Row (née The Ridge, née Dirigo Plaza) | Westbrook, ME

Seems that there are some new renderings for the office building (100 Rock Row) ....The building has been redesigned and shorted from 6 to 3 stories (2 if you don't count the first floor which is predominantly retail) The new design is (in my opinion) a horrible and uninspired downgrade. this...

Some observations flying out of the Jetport on Sunday: Breeze has advertisements up in multiple places around the terminal and arrivals area. Similarly, United has advertising up inside their jetbridges (gates 1,2,3) which seem to be tailored to the Portland market. I'm sure that's fairly...

Maine Public Broadcasting Bldg. | 25 Commercial St. | Portland

Sad news....This project is officially dead. Maine Public is going to be moving into the former public market building on Prebble / Cumberland. Apparently Maine Public had some fundraising issues and the board wasn't fully supportive of the huge upfront cost for constructing a new HQ and...
