Last year's winner: Hole in DTX by Endus

And this poor BU kid must've ate too much Halloween candy....

I absolutely adore this photo. Reminds me of the impeccably staged and lit subjects from the Philip-Lorca diCorcia ICA show a few years back.

^ Yes! I heart Philip Lorca diCorcia, and that shot definitely channels him (it's even more impressive for the fact that it's not posed; most of DiCorcia's shots are set up by the photographer). Did anyone catch that the curator who's been putting on the ICA's most spectacular shows is moving to oversee the MFA's contemporary section? I wonder if she'll have the freedom to keep making blockbusters, and if the ICA can keep them up without her.

One of my favorites this year. Very grand, very elegant, and a perspective that I personally have never seen.

Also, this more recently. More so than the lights, I like the fountain. Don't know why, I think it's the softer light whereas everything else is very harsh.

And yet another holiday Pru...

And finally, this. I've always liked castevens pictures (I nominated his Kenmore Sq. photo last year). This one is currently my background. I like night pictures (if you couldn't tell already) and I usually like longer exposures, which I'm pretty sure this is.

Those four were all my runner-ups...looks like we'll have a pretty good photo of the year, at least!

I never saw the GMACK24 photo. That's the winner, right there!! Holy cow.

Oh, and the Koch gallery at the Museum of Fine Arts? Take as many photos of it as you can ... it's gone once the new wing opens.

Why would they even think of getting rid of it?

Unterbau and czsz, glad you both got a kick out of that poor kid, it's a personal favorite as well. My title for it: Drunk! The Musical.

I'll do some rooting around over the holiday break for my nominations.

Some really great ones already mentioned.

I found this one by Pierce to be memorable:

I also wanted to nominate one of Boston02124's gritty, atmospheric skyline shots, but I couldnt find it -- he posted way too many to sift through :)

Armpits, that Congress St. photo was my background for a long time. I'll second that, and the one by Corey (I already nominated the GMACK Post Office Sq. photo).

Also, I'll second Pierce's shot with the paint on the ground and such.

Hold the phone, I may have been talking out of my ass. Terry says it's staying and he would know. However, I know I saw it somewhere ... will try to find out.

Hey Thanks for the Nominations Guys. : )

I shall make a few nominations myself in a few days time : )
