Cambridge street overpass of I-90 public meeting

MassDOT presenting its 100 percent design for the repair of the overpass bridge deck and responding to public comments.

Construction is expected to begin in the spring and will last 3 years.

Soo many bridges. Why not create a channel and place the Pike below ground level so the cross roads around there can be as close to flat as possible. That's the best way to knit the neighborhood together instead of more elevated bridges. Then eventually buildings can be built over the Pike and create a quieter neighborhood through covering up all the highway noise.

I dont understand why they are going ahead with this when it should be packaged into the I-90 rebuilding. Or at least wait for the plans for the interchange to come out.

They are insisting that they "had to do it now" or else it will collapse. Of course they've been saying that for years.
