Arlington, on WCVB [I think] there was some video that related to the agreement and in addition to some comments from Mayor Walsh there was some mention of a new street and traffic work around Sullivan Sq.

Suggests that a lot of the clean-up is specific to the foundation work

“We’re shooting for May to start construction,” said Chris Gordon of Wynn. “We would hope in the next few weeks to get the foundation permit. The City has it under review right now. Once we have that permit, we can start putting in the foundation and performing the remediation of those soils…The first thing people will see is excavation equipment and then a slurry plant being built. For the first six months, it will be working below grade. You might drive by and not know the work is going on.”

By next fall, it is expected that work will begin above grade with steel coming up.

...Bob Delhome and his company, Charter Environmental,.... the 19-year-old environmental remediation company is about one-third of the way done with...cleaning up the former Monsanto Chemical site on Lower Broadway to clear the way for Wynn Everett casino.

It’s a daunting task, as there are three major “hot spots” on the site and general contamination throughout – as well as multiple clean up strategies being deployed all at once....Though there is not specific date for the clean up to conclude, it is expected Charter will be done with its part of the clean up by late March or early April.

with Boston's deal with Wynn and the new personal alliance of Steve and Marty -- its time for the bit players of Somerville and misc., NIMBYs to grow-up and settle.

Wynn is moving forward and the best outcome is a cooperative development plan benefiting the entire region including a signature footbridge to Assembly Sq. T

Was there a traffic study done by the state concerning this development and its effects going North & South through 93 going in & out of Boston?
How much more volume will this generate on the highway 93?
How much more volume of traffic can 99 handle at this point?
How much more volume of traffic can Sullivan Square handle?
Is the MBTA going to have anytype of Commuter rail or Hardrail stops going into the casino?

Did the Massachusetts Gaming Commission do a traffic study on this area at all and why hasn't the Globe or the Herald get a better perspectives on this scenario.

This is probably vital information concerning a development of this magnitude that is going to effect every commuter that goes in and out of Boston on a daily basis.

I keep hearing that you have a choice to drive off peek hours but most people don't have a choice to go to work or get something that requires to use 93 or other ways traveling through Boston. I think your wrong 100%

Is their a Real plan in place to help the traffic flow smoothly.

Assembly, 99, Sullivan, Are already a disaster
93 is becoming more and more conjested each year.

Please tell me they have a infrastructure plan that won't cost the taxpayers a billion dollars.

Right now the MBTA is completely broken. So please enlighten on the traffic scenario on this development.
You think Seaport is bad getting in & out at rush hour. Wait till this is built you 93 will be GRIDLOCK. Welcome to LA

This area should be been cleaned up by Monsanto and developed for more condos/apartments to help bring rents down in this area.

Do people flock to and from a casino 7-9am and 4-6pm? Isn't it more of a weekend, afternoon, or evening event? If anything, I would think it would increase off peak traffic and have a minimal effect on the rush hours.

I live in Assembly. The traffic isn't any worse then the rest of the city. Way better than downtown, about the same as when I lived in Allston.

It seem like it would be possible to run a courtesy DMU from N. station directly to the casino site or at least have free shuttle buses to assembly orange and Chelsea CR and N. Station. Is any of that in the works?

Given that Wynn's paying for expanded off-peak Orange service, it would seem silly for him not to have private shuttles waiting at the door for riders at Sullivan, Assembly, and/or Wellington.

As someone who lives at the outskirts of Boston's commuting range, when I go to boston I prefer to take a bus down and stay at a hotel or with a friend and use public transportation to get around. I've also have been to the wynn in Vegas and am looking forward to this place opening up - the indoor gardens and floral arrangements will be a great amenity with our harsh new england winters and as a vegetarian I will enjoy the dining options. Also I sure as hell won't be adding to traffic congestion on the road. I have no idea why locals still make the mistake of trying to drive in the Boston area.

This has been my fantasy! It would be easy enough to build a platform for DMU service and if the T ever gets a frequent service DMU line going out to Lynn and beyond this would be perfectly situated to benefit from the service, all while connecting the Casino (essentially) directly to the rapid transit system.

This has been explained infinity times before in the casino threads. Can't build a commuter rail station at the casino's back door. Too many safety issues with the steep downgrade coming off the Mystic River bridge; it would never get approved. There will never be a direct rail stop at Wynn until the Urban Ring gets built through there as light rail. No ifs, ands, or Crazy Transit Pitch buts.

Shuttle buses from Orange: sure. Possible run-thrus down Beacham St. from SL Gateway: sure. Trolleys: someday, if the UR happens. Commuter rail/DMU's: never ever.

The side of the parcel that is most inland looks to have a pretty flat, at grade crossing at what appears to be an unused street. It seems like there is plenty of sufficiently flat land in the area if the owners wanted to fund something. It might take more cooperation among property owners than Wynn working alone and is probably just an expensive pipe dream, but it does look possible.
