Fenway Infill and Small Developments

There's a lot going on but it's basically just brick and glass, there aren't a dozen different materials. Busy, but in an interesting way.

Yea idk it looks better than the current building but not much. Pretty busy.

Didn't say materials, I said gestures. It's two materials but it's still busy. It's interesting if interesting means "compelling to look at", which fine, but that's not the same as being nice to look at.

^^ I completely understand what you're saying. In a way, this project is analogous to Terrence Malick's films, or John Ashbery's poems -- give respect the effort and thoughtfulness as a compendium of knowledge, even if the result is less than the sum of its parts.

Really disappointing evolution. The original was interesting and cool.

Its really frustrating to see that even smallest of developments in Boston face the same slow process of getting worse with each iteration until it gets built 10 years later.

Guard to 3 Stooges: "How do you wish to be executed- beheading or burnt at the stake?"
Curly: "I'll take burning at the stake".
Moe: "What?"
Curly: "A hot steak is better than a cold chop!"

Suck is suck.

"The company said it has one site locked down, but won't divulge the location until it files plans with the city. But documents on file at the Suffolk Registry of Deeds indicate a Scape subsidiary signed a long-term lease for a property on Boylston Street in the Fenway that now houses older retail outlets."

Just looked this up - it's 1252-1268 Boylston Street which is the building that houses Machine Nightclub and Domino's.

Catastrophic fire destroys 5-story brownstone at 98 and 104 Hemenway Street,

with 100 people (mostly students losing everything), and 11 injuries reported.....

Thank God no one was killed.

Damn, thats rough, the picture with the girl and her dog tugged at a heart string. I’m in that area all the time for work. Hope they can rebuild something nice there. I’ll bet good money that NU will offer to buy the lot.

98 Hemenway received minimal if any damage. 104 was totaled but 108 only had fire on the 5th floor. 104 and 108 have a common façade and are separated by a firewall so I wonder if 104 will be rebuilt within the façade or if both 104 and 108 will be demolished?

That's really too bad. 104 and 108 Hemenway are classic Fenway architecture.

Very unfortunate for the tenants who suffered innocently.
