I. M. Pei dies at 102

The Christian Science Plaza is my favorite brutalist place in the city. RIP

The JFK Library and MIT Green Building are also solid pieces of architecture.

I am such a fan of his early work in concrete residential buildings. It's a real shame that Harbor Towers were never finished as it would have fixed a lot of issues that Silver Towers had in NYC (namely how anti-urban they were). Pei was one of the last surviving true Modernists, those who thought the world could be a better place through better architecture. Time has proven them more often wrong but their work still has merit.

What was the original full plan for the towers?
