There are a lot of things that can be made to work if one has either infinite resources or a Weimar printing press.

There is no demand in downtown Peabody to support a Blue Line extension. Further, there is no parking. In the words of Gertrude Stein, 'there is no there there.'

True story: the Bev/Salem/danvers/Peabody/Marblehead mini-metro has more people than Worcester, in a slightly smaller geographic footprint

And: its not about blue line TO peabody, its about blue line THROUGH peabody.

Just like there's not a lot of parking in Davis Sq either - and not a whole lot of walk-ons at Alewife ...

Would it, though? The tunnel mouth looks to be on MBTA property, as is the garage access road. At least to me it looks like they could still build the spur out of the tunnel on solely-MBTA property though it might require modifying the garage and re-doing its access roads, without engaging the city parcel.

The T property lines are very clearly marked on Google Maps; this won't spill onto the ROW for the south wye. And look how extremely slim the building in the render looks. Doesn't appear they intend to go all the way out to the property lines to begin with, which should leave plenty of room for not only the tracks but the Peabody-turnout platform.

I wouldn't worry much about this from the looks of it.

Ahh ok. Looks like a great project as long as it doesn't block a possible transit corridor.
