Re: DOT Parcels 25, 26, 27, 28 Kneeland Street

For public servants, criminal negligence gets bumped down to 'incompetence.'

The mass.gov trying to fleece developers + the neighborhood extortion process is why we don't have a successful air rights project started since 1982. We're likely to miss our 2nd consecutive cycle.... A city this size with this much economic activity lagging behind peer cities with no late-night subway service is a sign of a serious problem. Christ, even Philadelphia, with considerably less to work with, and more social problems than Boston has late night subway service.

To further prove how extra-stupid & crooked our state government continues to be, they haven't set in place a stimulus plan to get these build sites decked for the first air-rights project, then structure the sale + anticipated business activity to pay for the decking of the next one, and so-on. We will probably lose another 20~30 years because the priority to work with Boston and developers remains PR based instead of results based.

We continue to fail to get decking over the Pike, or actually build the Northern Avenue bridge, or extend subway service, etc, etc, because the state is still run by a bunch of useless idiots. And i'm being nice not to call them criminals for returning so little to the taxpayers besides their continued incompetence.

The only thing that could be worse is if we elected a marxist, feminist-maniac imbecile like Elizabeth Warren to higher office.

Warren isn't a Marxist (you obviously know nothing about Marx), and isn't a "feminist-maniac" (you obviously know nothing about feminism, or psychosis). Your height-worshipping rants are bad enough, but can you please keep the alt-right garbage off of this architecture forum?

Re: DOT Parcels 25, 26, 27, 28 Kneeland Street

Would it be possible for MassDOT to deck the highway from Comm Ave in Brighton to the I-93 intersection, then sell the parcels as immediately developable? Would having a pre-made deck limit the engineering of a new development in any way (assuming MassDot did a reasonable job with the deck)?

Sir,

that would require forward thinking.

Warren is an alt-left neo-marxist loon and an epic scumbag that deserves censure.

She recently called for the cutting up of Repubilcan's bodies.

not really a new low for her, REALLY. just business as usual.

Re: Open Thread

Crying a puddle or a river won't be necessary.

CNN isn't a law enforcement agency, (much less an actual news agency, imho).

but it's quite possible they'll be hearing from law enforcement soon.

Re: Open Thread

STFU with this political shit... I thought we stopped this nonsense?

Re: What's Happening With Project X?

Unless you're currently on bathtub crank, please use a smaller font. I understand your passion, but this isn't helping. Using big, bold font (complete with terrible grammar) won't get any project up and running any sooner.

I can't suggest the "Ignore List" enough.

Re: What's Happening With Project X?

I'd prefer a ban personally. He was expressing white supremacist sentiment in the MLK memorial thread anyway.

Re: What's Happening With Project X?

Not with idiots and/or fascists, no.

Didn't you literally just say in the same post you are pro-free speech? So yes, I reserve my right to call trash trash.

Re: What's Happening With Project X?

The New Balance track was announced that a performance theater is now attached to it also and it was supposed to start soon. I figured prep work was already underway but maybe not.

Re: What's Happening With Project X?

Snowflake couldn’t stand the heat I guess..

I'm all confused when people use snowflake now. It used to be conservatives saying it but more recently liberals are saying it facetiously. Kinda wish nobody would say it cuz its ridiculous in any context.

Re: What's Happening With Project X?

Well it's mainly because conservatives exhibit more snowflake behavior than the liberals they accuse of exhibiting it. It's pretty funny. This guy cussed me out with all kinds of irrelevant political insults, then deleted his post within hours and can't stand by his words like the mentally pathetic person he proved himself to be (similar to Trump deleting tweets btw).

Re: Simmons University Living and Learning Center | 300 Fenway | Longwood

I dunno about anybody else, but the idea of closing down an entire college campus and (presumably) turning it over to a a private developer makes me feel a little gross.
Maybe the idea of college has finally reached its natural limits. Outrageous cost and toxic ideological indoctrination have taken not just the shine off the experience but also the finish. Group think and hostility to free speech have no place in higher education, yet there they are on campuses all over the country metastasizing into something quite ugly. Administrators seem mostly unable or unwilling to implement correctives so they may unwittingly be fast-forwarding the extinction of what we know as college today into whatever it will evolve into tomorrow (likely downscaled and oriented more to the practicality of hard sciences and business). So be it.

Alternatively, emphasis on and respect for the military, trades, and manufacturing careers is long, long overdue. College is oversold today and not at all a suitable option for a large number of young people uninterested in its expanding downsides.

^ Uh, okay...

(I'm pretty sure these have been the standard talking points of a certain segment of the population for at least 50 years. But either way it's not something for this forum.)
