I am surprised Rosa Mexicano is still in business. I went after it opened and was not impressed with the food, drinks, service or prices. Ate at the Pink Taco in the Hard Rock in Vegas. It was ok. I give it 2.5 years here.

True, but in the taco game, there's really only one choice at the moment, bartaco. The others may offer them, but if I'm looking for good tacos, bartaco is the only option. We'll see what Pink Taco has to offer..

I ate at Bartaco in West Hartford and was pleasantly surprised. It was very good. The prices are tough to justify if you've ever had a good taco on the street in Mexico, or even from a good food truck here in the states. But for a hipster/yuppie taco joint, Bartaco is very good.

I just looked at the menu for their Seaport location and the prices don't seem crazy (I get what you mean in terms of street taco prices but it's hard to compare the two). Torchy's Tacos is an extremely popular Texas chain which has made its way to Denver and the prices are very comparable, if not favorable, when the two are compared. Also take into consideration that Torchy's restaurants are paying rent in Texas/Denver, and I'd say Bartaco's prices seem good.

Shake Shack is opening at One Milk Street in Downtown Crossing as the ground floor retail. WeWork will be taking all of the space above. Great renovation, great tenants.

OddFellows Ice Cream (from NYC) opens at The Street in Chestnut Hill on Friday.

I bet they'll go to the Seaport at some point soon - but that's just speculative based on WS Development leasing both developments.

+1 what a great example of what DTX could and should be. This is making 1 bromfield look so tired...wish something would happen there.

A New Restaurant Might Be Opening in the Old KO Pies Space in Southie

In a presentation obtained by Eater, the restaurant claims to be a “casual fine dining restaurant offering modern American fare served in a small intimate and casual setting,” focusing on “food based on seasonality and direct sourcing from local farms and purveyors within New England.”

The chef and owner behind Lenox Sophia is Shi Mei, who is an alum of Thomas Keller’s famed French Laundry in Napa Valley.

Agreed 1000%. It's so beautiful and wish they'd do more of this.

Star Market is transferring their Fenway store's liquor license to their new location at the Hub on Causeway.

Makes sense. The Hub on Causeway Star Market will likely get a ton of sales, and with the Target across the street in the Fenway I rarely saw people buying liquor at that Star anyway. This will also simplify operations at the Fenway store (no more need to worry about carding) and that store could use the extra elbowroom.

Does that Target sell hard liquor?

The Fenway location will get redeveloped sooner or later.
