I guess that's true right there that the fence exists. Funny I never noticed. It does not go beyond whiskey priest, though, and renders of further developments north of there have shown fences as well.

I don't know why everyone is ignoring what he's saying. The seaport has few remaining places that aren't obnoxious new and fancy restaurants. While these two places are detestable, mostly due to nighttime clientele, they are cheap, shitty places. They aren't dive bars and they may not have "character" but they lack the banality or swank or pseudo-swank of everything that replaced places like jimmy's. I miss the old baseball tavern in Fenway - now that was a true dive but the point is that in similar fashion l, the Fenway area has done away with nearly all older establishments and replaced them with shiny new places where the drinks are a few dollars more and the entrees are all $16+. I don't really care all that much about the demise of the WP but ABG is ok for lunch and all stick is saying is these places are something different from the uniform new places that have sprung up. The niceness or architectural value of a building is very separate from the types of restaurants that will get put into any new development. This is a real problem that affects all areas of Boston: as the old places get swept away, where are the cheap, shitty eateries for people who don't want to spend 20 bucks on lunch or 9 bucks on a draft beer going to go?

I remember eastern pier II and Seaport bar and grill. I'll miss those two about as much as angry/wp. If you want a dive bar luckys is a quick walk...same with biddy earlys.

Does that building look really close to pier 4 to anyone else? Like almost touching.

Has this guy been to Boston? His firm seems to do a lot of work here...

Great catch. I make the drive through I-90 and the Ted at Logan all the time to where it transitions to mile 0.0 at the start of 1-A, right as the overpass goes zooming above the delightful Bremen St. Park (also right after you ascend from that scarily depressed section of I-90, hard-up against the Logan service hangars, that appears to be below sea level and floods with effortless ease...)

I remember seeing Elkus at a downtown development symposium a few years back and he was already quite elderly. He seemed to have a nice lifestyle going as a globetrotting urban(ist) observer. Clearly the emeritus partner in the Elkus/Manfredi tandem with Manfredi having almost quite literally built the 2024 Boston Olympics. Perhaps one might say the Bert Cooper to Manfredi's Roger Sterling...

Realistically, if this trend continues, they should make the entire stretch of Seaport that faces the Airport an open air Harbor walk that has dozens of bars. Would be fantastic. Keep building.

Nice to see this rendering getting some love! After reading page after page about how amazing MT is turning out, I was beginning to think I was living in a parallel universe in which anything that wasn't a box was suspiciously "Dubai-esque."

This would be a great addition to Boston--I wish it could be located in a more established/central part of town closer to the Greenway. Or a parcel over the Turnpike near Fenway would be nice...

Other locations would be nice, but you probably need the waterfront location to pay for this and keep it from being VE'd to death.

Remember the original proposal for the Radian site on the Greenway.

^ It's good to see Mayor Walsh stepped up and that developer listened, now if they try to go the Radian route and dumb it down the Mayor needs to stick to his guns and it shouldn't be built. In this development atmosphere the city should never back down

Agreed. I believe the Radian was 'dumbed down' by Kairos Shen at the BRA, now that he's gone the new administration is thinking and acting differently, great news for Boston!

This is great and will be going in right next to the M1 and M2 parcels which will have their own "iconicity".

I would love to see renders of these two next to each other.

I'd love to, as well. In fact, all the renders of this building show a lack of neighbors, when in fact it will be pretty well surrounded on all sides except the viewing angles of the renders (which is probably why Elkus is so obsessed with being iconic from the B Street approach - it won't be blocked by 121 Seaport, Parcel M, etc).

As an aside, I never noticed the Red Sox branding on the Parcel M building before. If they have permission to use the logo, I wonder if the team's expressed interest in an outlet store there?
