The Time

For this forum, why is the time set to Greenwich Mean Time plus 5 hours? Would it make more sense to just make it EST (or GMT minus 4 hours)?

Go to your profile page. There is a pull-down setting you can change to local time.

Yes, but the default for non-logged-in users should still be changed to GMT-4.
