These generator exhaust pipes get incredibly hot - like glowing red hot sometimes. Besides the clearance around the exhaust pipe, it also sounds like it may not have been insulated properly, which could be a specification error. These things need serious insulation.

There's a significant 6-alarm fire at the new Treadmark building under construction at Ashmont. According to Boston Fire's twitter feed the AHU's on the roof are in danger of collapsing through.

This is a false narrative being pushed by various media. The rainscreen and insulation system was installed to improve the energy performance of the building.
Getting back to actual new retail, Mayhew Wine Shop opened up on Melcher Street last week. It's a great addition to what was a pretty desolate street front. From my one visit, they seem to have a nicely curated selection of both wine and craft beer.
Suit yourself. Like in construction, going with the lowest bidder has it's pros and cons. You'll see savings up front, but it can bite you in the ass down the road.
