    Framingham grade crossings

Can't do that, at least not without huge expense, because of the track junctions immediately adjacent to the station.

Biking the Boston 'Burbs (Trails, MDC, & Towns beyond Hubway area)

Several bits of good news on the MCRT. Our Metro-West town meetings have been busy (all links to a public Facebook group): Hudson Town Meeting unanimously passes design funding for their stretch of the MCRT Sudbury Town Meeting...

Roads and Highways General Development Thread

I really like this proposal (the "Alternative C"). Though I wonder if it would be doable to add an elevated ramp from the bike lane on the overpass to the upstream side of the BU Bridge, eliminating the need for the light where the path crosses the BU Bridge traffic at grade.

    Biking in Boston

Huh. That's a hugely popular driving route they're closing down, despite it being a huge PITA due to the ~5-second green interval for Mossland. Underground station layouts

Interesting, this indicates that the emergency exit stair at the north end of the Porter platforms comes up into one of the gratings in the Porter Square Shopping Center parking lot, I assume the smaller of the two. Which I suppose I could have guessed.

    General Infrastructure

Somerville DPW has a few of these, but I haven't seen them in action after this storm, the snow removal operations I've seen have used skid steers etc.
