That "path to nowhere" has been a thorn in my side for a long time, a complete waste of money buying those unique light fixtures just to see them waste away unlit and unused.
The other end of the bridge in Charlestown- is this going to connect with the walkway adjacent to the City Square Tunnel entrance/exit and if it is hasn't that been in place waiting for the bridge for several years?
Re: T construction news
No, it would not be. Traffic is already bad enough, adding the required shuttle buses along the route is going to be a nightmare and cause more problems than is worth to both the city and the T.

Re: T construction news
Actually no I would not, not after they have not closed Park, DTX, or State during any of their renovations and they have ways of keeping the station open and running during the renovation that can be used to keep the station open. I'll believe they will completely shut...

That is still more than enough to wipe out service especially since they have enough trouble already keeping flooding under control, wires up, and tracks clear during normal Spring/Fall monsoons.
They have huge problems with a nasty rain storm and you are complaining about them shutting it down for a hurricane?!?!?!
He is going to get much less criticism for shutting down as a precaution than for keeping it up and running through the storm- lesser of two evils, like it or not.
Katrina...
