With the exception of Paris and London, most of these routes will need a decent amount of business travelers to be sustainable, but I wonder how appealing the value prop of Primera is for this segment. I am flying to Europe at least once a month and for example the Delta/AF Sky Priority benefit...
Re: Official City Hall Plaza Proposals
Is it just me or does $60M sound excessive for the work that this visual appears to implicate? I see lots of new trees, landscaping and street furniture enhancements, but no large structural changes to the plaza itself... Granted anything would be better...
Re: Seaport Parcels M1-M2 | Seaport Sq. | Seaport
^ Always love reading your enthusiastic assessments of Seaport developments, Stick. And I am with you on this one. This will be the beating heart in the middle of the neighborhood. With the NEMA building wrapping up around the same time, there...
^Agreed, FINALLY! Summer street has a lot of potential, especially once the residential components of Seaport Square creep closer to Summer Street. The bike lanes and sidewalk reconstruction are great improvements. I am hoping they will improve the median as well. The above pictures give me...
Re: Innovation Dist. / South Boston Seaport
just posted a long reply to the Globe article. The whole point of Shelley that the city is restricting access is just so bogus. This is not a access issue, but an architecture issue. No one in their right mind can say access to the Harbor has declined...
Re: Offical City Hall Plaza Proposals
Sometimes I am simply amazed by the level of negativity on this forum for anything that is not a Pelli designed super tower. I think the winter plaza is going to be a great success and be a very welcome center of activity between Quincy market and DTX. And...
Re: Innovation Dist. / South Boston Seaport
It's crazy to think that the current Google Map image of the Innovation District is probably no more than 2 years old, yet it seems like such a distant reality from where we are today. This is true urban renewal. Although some might not agree with the...
^^^^^ Indeed very impressive numbers. I am probably one of the 11% and have been flying a great deal more this year. I think overall the airport is holding up quite well. The new garage addition was completed just in time. What Logan does need is a true rapid transit connection to the city. the...
Re: Pier 4 Residential Tower | 136-146 Northern Avenue | Seaport
I think Committee has been a good addition that mixes it up a little. Good, but not great, Greek/ ME food.
The problem will be for all these places to stay in business during the ramp up years for the Seaport as a whole. It is...
I actually work in this part of Waltham. Having worked in the booming Fort Point area for while it definitely was quite an adjustment, but saving $500 per month in parking, tolls and gas and getting 1 hour of my life back each day is worth something as well. Hopefully some of these new...
I understand there are some very well versed architecture professionals on this forum, but I simply don't understand the consistent pattern of totaling condemning any new rendering before it has any detail to it and then slowly showing support when it is getting build.
I am not an expert but...
I am with you sm89. I've been excited about this building for a long time. It is (part of) a good connection between the North Station area, the North End Haymarket. If the street activation is anywhere near decent, this building will be a huge win for creating a more connected city.
Definitely agreed! I walked by this yesterday and the Barking Crab had their patio extended in the "alley". Felt bustling. This will be even better once the hotel opens.
On a more negative note, the closure of the Old Northern Ave bridge is really hurting the area. It is almost painful to see...
