IDK, I think it might be time for transit people to play dirty. I personally don't care if Streetsblog lies about this stuff if it puts pressure on the right people. MassDOT plays with our lives every day, why give them an inch?

The wall is cool, but how would shoring it up fix the rat problem? It should probably just be removed.
In theory yes 47 is frequent, but I try to make this combined route virtually every week and it it works out maybe once a month. That area is subject to notorious delays (it goes thru the BU Bridge area) and the 83 is an every 45 min route off-peak.
Is there a reason the new 85 doesn’t run on nights or weekends? Whats the MBTA’s resistance to making this specific route run like any other bus? It’s close to being useful.
Edit: to explain, the current way to get from Somerville to the BU area is to take the 83 to the 47, which are infrequent...

I have picked up opinion writing. I definitely simplified things here but I think some may appreciate.
If it gets bus lanes, I think it is 100% OK to not also put in separated bike lanes as a compromise. I say this as someone who only owns a bike as transportation. Stripe parking spots all the way up and down and then in ten years Mayor Mamdani can do quick build flex posts there.
I just hate that we have admitted defeat on transit costs. I think the report on GLX from Alon Levy's group was really well-reasoned and it has generated ~zero talk at the MBTA about how to contain these contracts and do more stuff in-house and cheaper. The only people who want to talk about...
