Logan Airport Flights and Airlines Discussion

Sorry I missed this June 8th post. Flying out from Terminal C June 24th, Wicked Blue was sitting at gate C8.

    Logan Airport Capital Projects

I took my first flight on JetBlue last month, so this was my first visit to Terminal C in many, many years. My impression passing through security was how cramped the secure public space is leading to the gates. So seeing last week's report on JetBlue's Terminal C rebuild plans was a pleasant...

Boston suspends Starbucks food license at South Station after rodent video surfaces

Hope I didn't come across critical of your post. Your post is spot on. I used to be a regular traveler through South Station, but it has been a couple of years now. Is the passenger concourse any better now than it was then? The management company was clearly mailing it in when I passed through.

Boston suspends Starbucks food license at South Station after rodent video surfaces

Which is why I asked "I wonder how the management company responsible for South Station is handling this?"

Boston suspends Starbucks food license at South Station after rodent video surfaces

Per WCVB news report this evening, which includes video of the rat infestation (it's impressive): I'm sure Starbucks corporate is on top of the situation at their "South Street Station" location. I wonder how the management company responsible for South Station is handling this?

WCVB reports this evening that the MBTA carried 108,940 passengers for the World Cup games in Foxborough. No online link posted so far to their story.

Fall River/New Bedford Commuter Rail (South Coast Rail)

For folks who don't have access to today's Globe edition or bostonglobe.com, here are some details from the editorial. Some fair use quotes: "One year after launching, the worst-case fears have proven misplaced. The train is running smoothly and attracting a significant number of riders...

Cape Cod Rail, Bridges and Highways

WCVB-TV reports a renewed push for Buzzards Bay commuter rail tonight: The video report linked above shows a Mass Coastal train queued to use the canal bridge to cross onto the Cape. The live report I saw earlier this evening had what I presume is an MBTA CapeFLYER crew qualifying train...

Fall River/New Bedford Commuter Rail (South Coast Rail)

The New Bedford Light ran an article yesterday (March 23, 2026) to mark the one year anniversary of the opening of South Coast Rail. Fair use quotes from the start of the article:

Cape Cod Rail, Bridges and Highways

The Sagamore Bridge sees considerably higher traffic counts than the Bourne -- hence the focus of getting Sagamore done first. Source: https://www.capecodcommission.org/our-work/traffic-counts/

MBTA Fare System (Charlie, AFC 2.0, Zone, Discounts)

As noted in the MBTA Construction Projects thread, major construction work is slated to start soon on the renovation of Back Bay station. Has the MBTA announced where the commuter rail fare gates will be set up?

Cape Cod Rail, Bridges and Highways

And there's no timeline in place yet to replace the Bourne Bridge. Double ouch.

Cape Cod Rail, Bridges and Highways

MassDOT's January 20th "Recreation Open House" presentation now shows a date of 2037 for completion of the new Sagamore bridges. I also see the CapeFLYER Bourne station will be relocated closer to the Gallo Ice Arena to accommodate the new Bourne bridges.

MBTA Fare System (Charlie, AFC 2.0, Zone, Discounts)

Not a frequent commuter rail user anymore, so I didn't understand the design differences between North and South stations fare gates until cden pointed them out. WTF. Of course the South Station arrangement will not work. Passengers (quite reasonably) want to wait in a climate controlled...
