It'll open with the Union Square station to complete the D line in March.

I don't mind the use or the scale, I just think it looks ugly, boring, and cheap.

It's only an option, it could be a kids playground or something!

ha, went to a public info session about this outside East Som. library about a month ago and the first thing I asked her is if they'd put in a new side walk. seemed mad that there was all that space and no sidewalk to the dog park!

that's a great idea, not sure what politician would have the guts to put surge pricing on the pike tho!

ah gotcha. I don't see anyone sacrificing a lane at the busiest points of the pike for busses any time soon so yea, that's prob political. apologies for the confusion on my part.

It's tucked away now but that whole area is about to become very busy. I think that view is facing New Washington st. (as in, looking toward the inner belt, not Washington st. I think the plan is to put a cut through street from New washington to washington to the west of the building, I've no...

what's a political choice, people not wanting to take a bus or me wanting people to take public transit? either way, if you make public transit appealing, some people will ditch the car. I don't think that's a political choice, more one of convenience and comfort.

Busses get stuck in traffic. Leave South Station on friday at 4.30 and you'd be lucky to be past Worcester by 6.30 then sit in some more traffic at 84/90 then more traffic for the constant repairs because all the traffic means the highway needs to be constantly repaired. Also, you're on a bus...

Yea, I know, the cost is depressing. I'm not sure what the solution is but I just cant shake the feeling that building a rail link that's slower than driving will put a complete stop to any dream of a useful service. I could be wrong tho. Maybe eventually the track can be upgraded and...

by that rationale, you could put eight stops inside 128 and they'd all be busier than Chester. TBH, I didn't grow up here. I've only lived in America for 12 years but I can't for the life of me figure out how we go about rail. Lets spend a fortune to get a direct rail link to Pittsfield but...

It just seems bizarre to me to have three stations within walking distance on a regional rail line. It takes 20 mins to walk from south station to back bay. Landsdowne is only a 20 min walk from back bay. And what happens when West station opens? Will it stop four times inside 128? I guess its...

here's another question. Why would these trains stop at Landsdowne and backbay? It's not commuter rail and going straight from Framingham to South Station would shave time off the journey. Take the t to backbay or Fenway if that's where you want to go.

Is it just me or is the perspective way off in that second image? Looks like the start of that city folding scene in Inception.
