I have mixed feelings about this design. In its favor, I think it does attempt to evoke and extend the massing of the adjacent Metropolitan Warehouse in a linear and somewhat complementary way. The design reminds me of another building by this architect, One Santa Fe in LA...

I think it's because humans evolved from tree dwellers - in that sense, verticality offers escape and security.

I had a look at the sculpted seating in the plaza up close. That's also pretty cool.

Re: 2 Charlesgate West The turnpike and commuter rail are literally across the street. What about noise mitigation techniques, and how effective can they be here? Sound barrier walls seem to be only so high, so will they reduce noise to the upper stories of this building?

Whether or not this project ever takes place, which seems increasingly unlikely, I think it needs some serious re-design. It looks too much like a suburban office park.
