Is there anything left of Eastgate at this point?

Way more than five levels. Looks like close to half of the building is gone. It used to be nearly the height of Site 4, the tallest building in this picture.

There's a perspective you don't see every day. What an interesting vantage point. And we even get one of the radio/TV towers out on 128 in the shot (not sure of this, but drawing a straight line across a map it looks like it would be the WBZ/CBS tower in Needham).

Certainly the best looking of any of the new Kendall buildings. The rest are very blah.

Eastgate's Revenge? Hard to tell if the scaffolding was damaged or not.

I knew the tower was going to come down; I was just curious as to the timing of it w.r.t. the rest of the Eastgate demolition. As stefal said, DZH's pictures from 9/11 show the tower still there, but BeeLine's pictures from earlier today (seem to?) show it gone, though if there's any angle that...

Not going to happen. Eastgate will be taken down, though not by implosion. I guess we'll know when exterior demolition will start when a crane starts going up next to it.

In a sense, it is. Only done with a light fixture, and officially sanctioned.

Regarding questions of when Eastgate is coming down: The lock-out date for the start of demolition was May 24. WMBR (MIT's student run radio station at 88.1 FM, which used the tall tower on top of Eastgate for its broadcast antenna) moved its equipment out on May 22, and is now transmitting...
