Has anyone heard the Longfellow Bridge referred to as the "Salt and Pepper Bridge" recently or has that nickname completely died out?

I know that there are a lot of different inputs that go into the design of a building but the fact that there isn't a door at the corner irks me. 😐

While I know that photography wasn't exactly uncommon in the late 1890's, it's still kind of amazing and impressive that @alewife was able to find a photograph of a random piece of infrastructure from 128 years ago!

I know it's a bit early to be thinking about Christmas, but I hope Wu is looking into large tree vendors. I'm not sure that our friends in Nova Scotia are going to be feeling very generous this year.

Sorry if there is a thread on this somewhere, but are there any rendering of what the Pit in Harvard Sq will look like when the renovation is completed? Obviously it won't be a pit anymore due to ADA, etc.
