Re: Children's Hospital Addition Seems to me some hotel chain could come in, buy the Longwood Inn from Best Western (or whomever owns it now) and totally renovate that entire block. As you said, it sorely needs to be brought into the 21st century.

If we are at a point where we are proud of 3 nondescript 'U-store-it-all' inspired boxes, then all hope is lost. Boston is a void of design and imagination. The extension to the MFA illustrates that in the starkest terms.

I work in Longwood and take the shuttle bus by the MFA twice a day... and I can assure you, it is as ugly in person as it is in these pictures. The inside might be amazing, but the outside is a major, MAJOR disappointment. The new signage they have put up around the building is nice though :)

Also, interesting fact, BU has the older basketball "stadium" located directly above Walter Brown Arena. It's even called The Roof. Agganis Arena hosts "big" games for basketball. The Roof hosts all the rest. So essentially they now have two stadiums for each sport, allowing for so much more...

I dont think there are currently plans to re-develop it. There is quite a demand for 'ice time' at BU for the different intramurals, both D1 hockey teams and a pretty robust figure skating program. So leaving Walter Brown as a rink enables more of the community to have access to time. As far...
