I hate the Bowker replacement plan, making a wider road footprint than what's there, and perpetuating the Bowker overpass itself.

Am I reading this wrong? It looks like the design has

No slip lanes
Added crosswalks across all the sides of tbe intersection
Added a walking (and biking?) connection down to Charles gate

The proposed design expands the Beacon St/Bowker overpass intersection from a one-phase traffic light to a three-phase light. This means longer delays and complexity for pedestrians trying to navigate through it..

At the same time, it's adding connections that don't exist today and changes the roadway geometry to induce yielding? Seems like a fair trade off for some delay for a place that is tough to cross today because of the highway speeds and vehicle travel?

Wow. Hadn't seen it from this vantage yet. Definitely dominates, but extends the high spine and will be a nice reminder that as we head south now on Mass Ave, we will be heading toward an urban area instead of a gaping hole and view of a highway.

I think that they've cleaned it up a little bit to make it look cleaner, rather than to have all that stuff up there!!
