WinnCompanies and Boston Housing Authority Secure Financing to Start Redevelopment of Mary Ellen McCormack Complex​

Long-Awaited Project Begins with $62 Million Building, $8 Million in Infrastructure Work


“WinnCompanies and the Boston Housing Authority (BHA) have announced the closing on financing for the construction of a new $62 million apartment building and $8 million in major infrastructure work for the redevelopment of the Mary Ellen McCormack public housing complex, kicking off the first phase of the long-awaited 3,300-unit, large-scale mixed-income and mixed-use project.

When completed in the fall of 2026, the first 112,000-square-foot building will provide 94 modern apartments for low-income families currently living at the Mary Ellen McCormack community, offering 37 one-bedroom units, 44 two-bedroom units, 12 three-bedroom units and one four-bedroom unit……….”

Sitework is now taking place on an area of more than 2 acres. 252-270 Msgr O'Callaghan Way and 46-60 Logan Way have been demolished, and Logan Way has been vacated between Devine and Msgr O'Callaghan. Signs for Mary Ellen McCormack Building A (94 units) have been posted.
