Can a mod merge this thread into this thread:

That's a different building...

I really dislike this imagery on the sign. An apartment is a home, even if you don't own it. And the use of a SFH graphic here is bad. Even in an income-restricted multi-family apartment tower the messaging is that owning a SFH is the ultimate goal.

Promoting SFHs never crossed their minds. The neighborhood is over 90% renters, the largest percentage in the city. Homeownership builds wealth. They are telling people that they can actually own some of these and that there will be new affordable apartments for rent

Edit: clarity

The amount of empty lots left in the area is really getting low now, great to see.

I wasnt the biggest fan of the boston water and sewer lots proposal, but that area around melnea cass is really needed to be filled in in order to re-connect the south end to roxbury again. That and the other lots across the street which also have their own proposals which are hopefully still moving forward will knit that area together a massive amount. Right now the empty lots and melnea cass both create a massive barrier between neighborhoods. I think this area and mass ave from bmc up to edward everett square (just learned this actually had its own name separate from uphams corner) are two of the most important next areas to focus on filling in. If roxbury and the south end were knit together and mass ave was developed on both sides from the south end to dorchster it would make the downtown core feel much larger because it would no longer be surrounded by a moat on those 2 sides.
