Nubian Ascends (Blair Lot) | 2164 Washington | Roxbury

Absolutely critical that the main building maintains the depth of its façade. That will make or break the woven effect it's going for.
Here's one tweak that I think would look cool: have the glass at the building corners be curved to give the effect of a round glass shape inside a squared off basket, with space between the basket weave and the glass at the corners. Maybe even have a bow in the glass wall from the top of building to the bottom to make the glass core look semi-spherical. The point being, make the basket seem more like a woven vessel and less like a textured curtain wall. But that probably adds Gehry-level complications.

This appears to have changed a bit.

10/11:

Some sort of demolition/renovation work is going on at 2164-2168 Washington Street (the Gallery Building), complete with a construction office on site. Two permits pulled in the last 30 days include an oblique reference to an upcoming alteration permit, but I couldn't find more details on it from a quick search. This property isn't part of the Blair Lot, but there's one old page on the city website that suggests this will be turned into 15 units as a part of the greater project.

PL1774209: Renovation to existing building to include: New San, Vent, Storm, Domestic Hot & Cold Water, water heater, roof drains, floor drain, ejectors, & fixtures

SF1764721: "At Risk" Underpinning of foundation ahead of ALT1611921 being issued. Full cost of project shown in ALT.

It will be a Community Music Center of Boston
From what I gather reading that short article is that this is open to the public? That would be an awesome resource to gain back after the rubber tracks studio stopped being free and open to the public at all.

This is going to be a music school, they are moving/expanding their campus to Roxbury from their current location in South End.
