Agreed but I would rather see Northeastern funding specific community groups and projects rather than it going to the city's general fund and allowing the political machine to play with it.

That method would bypass public accountability. Direct funding lets private institutions decide the winners and losers in the community with far less transparency.
 
Nonprofits are privatization. No way they should just be handed money. Huge political weakness for progressives
