Photo of the Day, Boston Style: Part XX (2026)

When were you up there, David? I saw a young man with a very nice camera exiting the monument not long before the wife and I went up. A shame we got so little time but I'm just glad I was prepared and got some cool shots.

I'm not that young (although had a haircut recently so the overabundance of grey hair doesn't jump off the page as much) and my camera isn't that nice! It looks like I managed to snag 48 pictures in the ~4 whole minutes they gave me at the top, covering 11:25 to 11:28. I entered the line between 10:15 to 10:20 so it was over an hour wait. I spent most of it chatting with a random older gentleman named Henry from JP about history, views, construction, etc. Parked at one of the lots for Carson Beach and climbed the very steep G Street to get there.

We were in line when you were up there, then! We got in line around 11 and it was noon before we got to the top.
