Did some Google Maps sleuthing and followed my instincts, and behold, top one is Fore River, the plant is on the Quincy side: https://maps.app.goo.gl/7N8PpYZeX1Sk2Lbb7

The second one is going to be much harder to place. Looks like a transfer station of some sort, with the pipe coming out of the ground to the left. Honestly, I'm surprised they used any actual MA locations for filming (beyond obvious landmarks), it feels like a lot of effort for a sort of one-note joke.

THANK YOU. I thought I scoured every corner of Quincy but apparently I didn't. Totally get it on the second one.

As for the effort, this was the follow-up single after their viral hit "What Does The Fox Say?" so it would seem they had carte blanche to film as they please, and with MA legalizing gay marriage in 2013 we became their next target. One-note joke for sure, but I think it also works as a fairly genuine love letter to the state ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

A lot of it is pretty clearly Quincy and environs... This intersection features pretty heavily, it looks like the river scenes are the Mill River in Weymouth, also conveniently the site of the former Weymouth town incinerator and transfer station. The Emery Estate is the "Nelson Mandela" house, and I'd probably guess Hough's neck for the cape beach town vibes... Only place that close to the skyline.

That's one of my favorite views of the city. When you're driving down the ramp onto the Pike westbound it looks like a movie set in front of you with the buildings so dense and at so many different angles.

It's even better if you stay on the ramp towards South Station, a slow-roll directly into the downtown skyline.

I maintain that 1 Financial could be an excellent building if they replaced her fat striped pjs with something more flattering.
My HS architecture teacher thought 1 Financial was a gorgeous example of ribbon fenestration.

I quite like it from the "skinny sides" in a very '80s aesthetic way (especially now with the lighting at night), but the fat sides are pretty awful. Unfortunate that one of those fat sides gets some of the most visual traffic (literal -- the approach on 93 from the south).

OK this barely qualifies for this thread but I don't know where else to put it. These come from the Ylvis parody video "Massachusetts" that went viral in 2013 and I've been wondering FOR YEARS where these shooting locations are, thinking in my travels all over the state I'd eventually see them but it hasn't happened and now I want to know. Thanks in advance

And just in case you haven't watched in like a decade, it's still absolutely hilarious and worth the rewatch:

VERY well done!!! I never saw that one before.

So you didn’t happen to notice that the divider lines on the west side of the Pru are missing?
