The Green Line Extension already happened, so why is it programmed in this document? The document describes the projects as: "Extension of the northern end of the Green Line from Lechmere to Union Square in Somerville and College Avenue in Medford."

Financing of the project spread out the bills across many CIP fiscal years, including deferred money. That's typical for most large-cost projects.

For example, I lost count of how many "Commuter Rail bi-level" line items are in the document. A lot of them are for vehicles long since delivered, even when it doesn't say "closeout".

Per page 62, the 27-31 CIP acknowledges the $2.118 billion price tag of the Green Line Extension, but only shows $115.1 million as programmed in the 27-31 timeframe. It's important to note that a CIP is a cash flow document, so the timeframe of expenditure on a project may not necessarily align exactly with its construction or completion timeframe.

Some additional helpful context is that only projects in that list that are marked with an asterisk received new or additional funding, to be distributed this fiscal year, to be expended the next 5 fiscal years.

Are we being serious? Just do it after National Grid finishes! Otherwise everyone gonna complain like what happened in Washington Street on Brookline.

Why aren't they using any trenchless methods around the tracks? Should be much less disruptive.

Gas line replacement usually involves installing and pressure testing the new main before cutting over individual services. I don’t think that is compatible with trenchless installation.

I'm clueless. Are they moving the head houses around the corner? Would definitely be good to get some space for real ped and bike infra on Mass Ave!

Hate the be the bearer of bad news but no, if anything there will be even less space on Mass Ave. There will be new emergency egress stairs on Huntington and new stairs plus elevators on Mass Ave.

I also think they are holding off on the public engagement right now but last I heard was a 3 year construction schedule with the station being closed through 2029.
