So they would fly out of where? Norwood? Into where? Mansfield? It seems like the drive from Raffles to Norwood to the helicopter to Mansfield to the car to Foxborough Stadium (where they would hit traffic anyway!) would take longer than just taking the train. But it seems like that’s not on the table here! So what exactly do you get for your money here except for a longer and noisier trip with a substantially higher risk of death? For $75 grand they should be able to use the helipad at Gillette.
Amar, the luxurious Portuguese restaurant inside the Raffles Boston hotel, will close on Sunday, April 26.
In May, the space will become a private event venue, “reflecting growing demand for curated celebrations and tailored experiences,” said a Raffles spokesperson.
The 17th-floor Back Bay destination opened to much fanfare in 2023 thanks to glittering skyline views, celebrity-spotting potential, and the reputation of executive chef George Mendes, late of the Michelin-starred Aldea in New York.

Mendes left Amar in the spring of 2025. He’s now hard at work on two South End restaurants, slated to open this summer: Agosto, featuring a tasting menu with global inflections, and Baby Sister, a bakery-cafe.

From Logan? It sounds like a lot of driving to and from an airport not next door to the destinations. I'd rather go with a big luxury RV to pick me up with offerings of a top tier Champagne and a killer charcuterie board than worrying about all of these travel links. I've been in many helicopters (for work), and they are noisy and not so comfortable inside. And forget the drinks unless you take a Blade flight from Manhattan's east or west side heliports (they serve cocktails in branded sippy cups). It doesn't serve Boston, though does for Nantucket.![]()
