100 per cent. And it’s kinda swampy.

Kinda unrelated but next door. I hope they eventually realign Gaspee street to mirror the original plan for the state house and start prioritizing addressing the massive swarths of asphalt parking. Shameful for the state really.
 
I was hoping for a larger building development like originally planned, I guess we can wait and see. I agree that that "park" isn't even a park, its an undeveloped open space. Theres nearly zero programming, and only a small number of amenities such as benches, receptacles. The planters nearest the 15 park row building are overgrown an an eye sore.

It was fun during the World Cup, and it is fun when they’re an occasional event held there. But most of the time, it’s a swampy goose poop filled lawn. I’d trade most of it for a repurposed, recreation-focused Kennedy Plaza

Oh but won't someone please think of the Providence area TV reporters whenever they have to do a live shot from the Waterfire side of the park, showing the State House looming massive in the background?

Whatever will they do if the park gets developed such that that key perspective gets blocked?!?
