    Green Line Reconfiguration

I was late to this, but great work as usual! Some feedback: a) I think the J can be extended from BU to either Kenmore or LMA (e.g. MFA station). This achieves several benefits at the cost of a bit more street running, but not as extreme as all the way to Nubian: Direct connection to C, R, D...

    MBTA Construction Projects

FYI, hurricane tracking is another hobby of mine, and I've been watching Tropical Storm Ian nonstop today. Some model runs from a few days ago actually had it hitting New England and passing through Boston as a hurricane, after coming out of Florida and brushing the NC Outer Banks. Won't verify...

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

Fun fact that I just realized: We are now past the days of E trains running to Union Square. The E branch is temporarily closed during August 6-21, and Union Square is served by Reservoir short-turns. No service between Union Square and Government Center from August 22 to September 18. When GLX...

MBTA just announced that the Medford branch will open in late November. Shuttle buses will also replace Government Center-Union Square from August 22 to September 18.

    Reasonable Transit Pitches

One advantage of a Washington St subway is that it does not necessarily have to end at Roslindale nor follow the Needham Line ROW. In particular, this means rapid transit could potentially be brought to Dedham and points beyond. The problem (aside from NIMBY concerns) is that the Needham ROW...

    Reasonable Transit Pitches

Subway under Washington sounds really interesting. Would it be possible to have provisions for branching out near Roslindale, Forest Hills, or somewhere else?

Western Avenue Corridor Study & Rezoning

To me, that's an issue with how the redesign handled 86, not a lack of demand.

General MBTA Topics (Multi Modal, Budget, MassDOT)

From what I've heard, trains were actually not running from Lechmere to Union Square, even though the announcement would suggest otherwise. Passengers were told to take the 87 instead. That's probably why they extended the shuttle to Union Square this afternoon.

    MBTA Bus & BRT

I'm finally reading this post after almost a full week. Excellent work! A few questions and comments: The redesign extends the 90 further east from Assembly to Wellington and Chelsea, likely to replace the Wellington-Chelsea link currently achieved by 112 and providing one-seat ride from...

    Green Line Reconfiguration

You can actually choose your own color by entering its Hex code. More tedious, but doable.

    Green Line Reconfiguration

Looks like Nubian-Union Square and Seaport-Medford are more feasible. Possibly add some Seaport-Union Square or Seaport-Sullivan-Chelsea trains. Such arrangements will take away the Somerville-Longwood OSR, but I don't think there's a good way around it. This will change with an extension to...

    Green Line Reconfiguration

One transfer access for Everett/Chelsea that should not be overlooked is taking the Orange Line at Sullivan. In a scenario where Sullivan->Lechmere can't be built and thus my pattern (2) can't be run, I wonder if Everett/Chelsea riders would rather transfer to OL (or BL from Chelsea) than going...

    Green Line Reconfiguration

Moving the following discussion here from @737900er 's post, as my comment has little to do with maps and colors: Maybe my fantasy of a Park-Kenmore-Kendall-Lechmere-Park loop service may not be so crazy, after all 😂 In seriousness, if we assume Kenmore-GJ trains are sent to Sullivan (which is...

If we're branding different trunks of the LRT system currently known as Green Line with distinct colors, why not use drastically different colors instead? Yes, several green-ish colors is a cute way to acknowledge the roots of the entire LRT network from the Green Line, but they're unnecessary...

    Green Line Reconfiguration

One benefit of a Lechmere-Grand Junction connection is providing a direct link between North Station and Kendall for commuter rail riders (especially Lowell and Haverhill lines), basically replacing what EZRide does today. Another benefit is to connect GLX to Kendall, though T101 arguably does that.

    Crazy Transit Pitches

Another reason: IMO, Blue as an HRT line has greater potential west of Kenmore than to serve the Kenmore-Harvard link. In a Crazy Transit Pitches sense, plenty of areas would love the capacity and speed of an HRT line to downtown: Allston, Brighton, Watertown, Newton, etc. The exact direction...

New Red and Orange Line Cars

Plenty of subway systems with no versatility at least have little light bulbs that indicate current and upcoming stops above the doors, instead of just a paper map alone.
