The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Off topic, but do we think that there will be some kind of “North Station Yards” air rights project in the decades to come?

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

The design of the top of the tower has a distinctive warehouse flair to it, and the bottom is scaled to fit in with its Bullfinch Triangle neighbors. The real problem is the completely needless glass bulge in the middle.

Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

That rendering is quite clearly Manhattan, somewhere around Chambers St. looking northwest.

Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

American Repertory Theater | 175 North Harvard Street | Allston

They chose to cover the blank brick expanse with giant font “COMMUNITY RESEARCH PERFORMANCE” because they forgot how to design with subtext, and with regular text, so they’re just left with supertext.

American Repertory Theater | 175 North Harvard Street | Allston

Harvard had a couple of good centuries but they really can’t build anything anymore. It’s time to take the keys away. They should be put into some kind of architectural conservatorship: Let Northeastern, Emerson, or even Suffolk or Wentworth make these kind of planning and architectural decisions.

    Bowker Overpass replacement?

You'd have one day of gridlock and then people would learn that they can swing their two legs to locomote themselves.

    Bowker Overpass replacement?

If this were actually a priority (it isn't) the city could just take one line in each direction as emergency vehicles only and set up cameras to capture and fine each lawbreaker. If the state has a problem, they can sue.

    Bowker Overpass replacement?

Won't somebody please think of the ambulances?!

    Bowker Overpass replacement?

Gridlocking these intersections would be a good thing. Slowing cars down is a good thing. Reducing the "LOS" is a good thing. It makes the city safer and it discourages automobile use.

Parcel 12 | Massachusetts Avenue at Boylston Street | Back Bay

Samuels should just be given the rest of the Pike parcels. He should get to wear a sash and a laurel crown.

    Bowker Overpass replacement?

But they’d really really hate the appropriate and cost-effective solution: to demolish the overpass and replace it with nothing.
