    Greystar | 35 Garvey Street | Everett

I mean, I think the moniker is more about price than anything…

    Greystar | 35 Garvey Street | Everett

Those are pretty low bars. Are there not urban, non-luxury homes being built elsewhere in the world that we could use as a design model? I think I lean more towards DZ’s side here in that surely something better must be possible somehow.

The Aubrey | 149-153 Newbury Street | Back Bay

Those slits in the facade are pretty ugly. Are they permanent or will they be filled in?

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

    Japan too perhaps?

    Beverly Developments

Interesting read! Honestly, going from a 7-story limit to a 5-story one (while certainly regressive) doesn’t seem like the end of the world. Let’s all be thankful that Mr. Three Story Everywhere didn’t get his way.

Bulfinch Crossing | Congress Street Garage | West End

    Blaze it and raze it

What are you listening to now?

One of the best artists to come out of the area in the last 20-or-so years in my humble opinion:

Multi-Family Zoning Requirements for MBTA Communities

Whose responsibility is it to extend the sewer system to new areas? The town’s, the state’s, or the developers’? I imagine its not the latter’s.. Definitely weird that mixed use buildings don’t qualify. What kind of wording precludes them?

761-793 Boylston Street | Back Bay

I think it looks kinda fun…

    45 Worthington Street | 35 stories, 385 units | Mission Hill

I mean, the city does need a lot more townhouse-style development. This might just not be exactly the right place for it. An apartment or condo highrise would’ve made sense here. Edit: guess looking closer that it’s actually just apartments after all and not really townhouses?

    Parcel 12 | 1001 Boylston Street | Back Bay

Let’s all agree to call it “the CGT”.

    That’s awesome!!

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

I’m in CLT fairly often and think that tower looks stunning in person. Calling it an ESB knockoff is wildly unfair.

    Population & Economic Growth

Uhhh…I was indirectly replying to akmags, who DID have issue with referencing Wikipedia in general! 😅 The actual question of whether the area’s population will grow is a bit beyond me. I do think it will have a hard time if it can’t control housing prices or compel the wealthier and more rural...

    Population & Economic Growth

Yeah. Wikipedia is a fine enough source for casual information that’s factual and relatively easy to cross reference.

    The New Retail Thread

Or maybe the Alamo will help funk up the Seaport a bit, which would be a good thing.

Fenway Center (One Kenmore) | Turnpike Parcel 7, Beacon Street | Fenway

I don’t think this is true. The MFA, Isabella Stuart Museum, Simmons, Emmanuel, Boston Latin, Winsor, and Harvard Medical all date to the 1900s or 1910s. Furthermore, the park through the Fens was laid out by Olmsted as early as 1887. The filling in of the river to make a parking lot and...

    Boston in video games

Didn’t play it myself, but Assassin’s Creed III was partially set in the city iirc.
