Those are pretty low bars. Are there not urban, non-luxury homes being built elsewhere in the world that we could use as a design model? I think I lean more towards DZ’s side here in that surely something better must be possible somehow.

Interesting read! Honestly, going from a 7-story limit to a 5-story one (while certainly regressive) doesn’t seem like the end of the world. Let’s all be thankful that Mr. Three Story Everywhere didn’t get his way.

Whose responsibility is it to extend the sewer system to new areas? The town’s, the state’s, or the developers’? I imagine its not the latter’s.. Definitely weird that mixed use buildings don’t qualify. What kind of wording precludes them?

I mean, the city does need a lot more townhouse-style development. This might just not be exactly the right place for it. An apartment or condo highrise would’ve made sense here. Edit: guess looking closer that it’s actually just apartments after all and not really townhouses?

Yeah. Wikipedia is a fine enough source for casual information that’s factual and relatively easy to cross reference.
