    Aucocisco | 201 Federal Street | Portland

I'm interested but unfortunately a previously scheduled appointment won't allow me to be there. Look forward to seeing some photos though! (And fingers crossed Redfern might offer another tour when the building is complete!?!)

Time & Temp Building / Brown St. Parking Garage Redevelopment | Portland

Unsurprising, given the total lack of activity on the site the last couple years. I wonder if they ever applied for historic credits through the National Park Service and if so, how that review went? Residential use would seem to make the most sense, but I wonder if the costs to convert it...

Catherine -- is the pocket park design finalized? Can you share any renderings?

Glancing over while driving up 295 this morning it looks like they're making steady progress with demolition...

Portland Foreside | 58 Fore Street | Portland

I suspect there will be a lawsuit or two being thrown over the fence from neighbors that should slow this trainwreck down ever further. In particular the guy who bought the big victorian house at the top of the hill that overlooks this site (currently undergoing renovations) has peppered the...

Infill and Small Developments | Portland

It seems like this building exemplifies what affordable housing projects can achieve. It's attractive, fits in the neighborhood, great use of an infill space, etc... I do hope there will be some planters or some other feature to cover most of that concrete base abutting the sidewalk.

Portland Foreside | 58 Fore Street | Portland

It looks to me like they're still finishing the interior build-out.

83 Middle St | CHOM Affordable Housing | Portland

Not the worst part? Actually the Middle Street side isn't bad - brick and glass, the white trim... it looks OK to me. The back 2/3 though... the facade just looks like it was the absolute cheapest option to construct.

    Shipyard Brewery | Cambria Suites | 86 Newbury Street | Covetrus | 12 Mountfort Street | Portland

Ha! I saw them peeling off all the black paneling (I don't know the proper term) a couple weeks ago. Did they make an error during installation that they're trying to fix? No sign that the townhouses are going to be constructed anytime soon on the Newbury Street side either...

    General Portland Discussion

It's disappointing that there's been no activity at Congress Square and we're halfway through May. According to the published timeline, the reconstruction of both Congress Square park and the PMA "plaza" are to occur in 2023, but if they don't get started soon I don't see how it gets done this...

    Aucocisco | 201 Federal Street | Portland

I too am curious about this as it appears from afar that there are no panels behind the tarps. Optical illusion? But the crane's instagram page says it's hoisted its last section and the tower will "disappear" on May 22. Assuming it will come down in whole that day perhaps we should have an...

    Aucocisco | 201 Federal Street | Portland

The height and mass are just enough to give it a "new and interesting" vibe while the design is conservative enough that it fits like a glove into the city skyline and already feels like it's been there for years.

    Aucocisco | 201 Federal Street | Portland

Cornice looks good to me! What's the building name going to be? In general I'm not a fan of names/signs at the top of buildings, the architecture should be the beacon. How's the pocket park design coming? 😃

Snapped a pic out my window driving up Pearl Street this morning!

    Portland Bayside

Interesting link in the PPH story about the new homeless services shelter opening -- apparently Tom Watson's group is proposing to demolish the Oxford Street Shelter and use it for staging during their development of these other properties. They mention potential future redevelopment of the...

    General Portland Discussion

If I'm interpreting this correctly it sounds like the owners of 511 Congress are proposing to convert it to a primarily residential building: https://selfservice.portlandmaine.gov/EnerGov_Prod/SelfService#/plan/9bcaa09c-231e-427f-a19e-47976bef2c6b?tab=moreinfo

    Aucocisco | 201 Federal Street | Portland

In that last photo (1972), where Pleasant Street park is now, it looks like there's a swimming pool or something surrounded by asphalt or low cut grass... Any idea what was going on there?

    Aucocisco | 201 Federal Street | Portland

Also curious how close you are to finalizing design of the pocket park? Is a water feature still in play?

The Longfellow Hotel | 754 Congress Street | Portland

My recollection is that there was a dry cleaner in here previously, and then I'm assuming this site was a gas station at some point in the past??
