It seems like this building exemplifies what affordable housing projects can achieve. It's attractive, fits in the neighborhood, great use of an infill space, etc... I do hope there will be some planters or some other feature to cover most of that concrete base abutting the sidewalk.

It looks to me like they're still finishing the interior build-out.

Not the worst part? Actually the Middle Street side isn't bad - brick and glass, the white trim... it looks OK to me. The back 2/3 though... the facade just looks like it was the absolute cheapest option to construct.

Ha! I saw them peeling off all the black paneling (I don't know the proper term) a couple weeks ago. Did they make an error during installation that they're trying to fix? No sign that the townhouses are going to be constructed anytime soon on the Newbury Street side either...

It's disappointing that there's been no activity at Congress Square and we're halfway through May. According to the published timeline, the reconstruction of both Congress Square park and the PMA "plaza" are to occur in 2023, but if they don't get started soon I don't see how it gets done this...

The height and mass are just enough to give it a "new and interesting" vibe while the design is conservative enough that it fits like a glove into the city skyline and already feels like it's been there for years.

Cornice looks good to me! What's the building name going to be? In general I'm not a fan of names/signs at the top of buildings, the architecture should be the beacon. How's the pocket park design coming? 😃

In that last photo (1972), where Pleasant Street park is now, it looks like there's a swimming pool or something surrounded by asphalt or low cut grass... Any idea what was going on there?

Also curious how close you are to finalizing design of the pocket park? Is a water feature still in play?

My recollection is that there was a dry cleaner in here previously, and then I'm assuming this site was a gas station at some point in the past??
