    Grounding the McGrath

I live a block off McGrath and want it moved even more to the west :) I'm with you on Herb Chambers tho. Cant believe they gave him permission to build his commercial fleet warehouse on the doorstep of a future T station. Helicoptering himself in and out. Brings nothing to the area other than...

    Grounding the McGrath

I'm all for bike lanes but dont really understand why you'd have both directions on each side running parallel to the community path. One direction each way with good green separation from the road seems fine. I also wonder if theres any way to reduce the size of the intersection at washington...

jeez. the city, state, and country are fine relatively speaking. As for budgets, look at what we spend on the military compared to everything else. And tax revenue? The super wealthy with their off shore accounts are delighted with you preoccupying yourself with the cost of processing poor...

    Milton infill and small development

I haven't paid close attention to this. Without getting too political, What were the reasons for voting no? Good old fashioned nimbyism?

    Grounding the McGrath

This is an excellent point and makes perfect sense. It's gonna take 10 years for the trees to mature, till they do this will be a huge expanse with lots of under used green space.

    Greystar | 35 Garvey Street | Everett

I'm not sure anyone is complaining about the amount of residential being built, It's clear that it's needed and will be a welcome additio. People are complaining about the aesthetic, how it looks. I think it looks terrible. And yeah, maybe a bit of a nod to Everetts industrial past/present could...

thanks for the photos Javier, appreiciated. I drove by here yesterday hoping it might look a bit better in person. It doesnt. I cant believe how bad this whole thing looks. I think if there was a competition to design a terrible residential development, this could win. The only redeeming feature...

that rendering of the kids playing soccer in front of the most boring building imaginable is depressing. At least theres a healthy ratio of soccer balls to kids!

Took this last Saturday. Wonder if the T conversation went something like... Boss - Get that temporary sandwich board sign up for the GLX B branch shuttle. employee - But shouldn't it be the E branch. Boss - Doesn't matter. Put it near the East Somerville station at O'Brien Highway Employee -...

100 Chestnut Street | Inner Belt | Somerville

looks like they might have cleared/are clearing the site immediately north of it towards Joy st. Any word if anything is going to happen here? Also wonder if that service road linking to the path will be opened to the public now that construction is almost complete.

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

dunno. I've seen it in person and I'm with you on the panels. Would have been nice if they were curved on the middle front facing section. Might turn out ok but not inspiring much in me at the moment.

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

Took the T in to North Station today. Nice and fast over the viaduct. Kinda felt like some sort of project closure. Also the train was packed at 8.30am. Felt like it had been running for years. Credit where it is due. It's beginning to be a great public transit service!

Right, and he's been good and transparent. Which is why I dont get this particular issue being shrouded in mystery.

They mentioned in their promo stuff that they were fixing it during the orange and green line closure of Sep '22. Over a year ago. They've since closed the line multiple times with no progress on that slow zone. Kinda wish they'd just come out and tell the public what the problem is.

Are the speed restrictions on the viaduct lifted now?

Biggest transit and infrastructure stories of 2023?

Personally, the biggest infrastructure project of 2023 was the opening of the GLX community path. The GLX opening earlier was good but there is an air of 'budget cuts' about that whole project. I wasn't expecting the path to be such a life changer. Before the path, the only way to get from most...
