One Harbor Shore Dr. | Fan Pier Parcel H | 1 Harbor Shore Drive | Seaport

It was blocked off at the same time the surface work began. I agree it looks like it will go up quickly.

    Biking in Boston

I don’t find that crossing to be too bad. It is a pretty instant red light when the beg button is hit and not a HAWK. Traffic calming and a road diet would probably be better use of funding than a bridge there, but the issue would be with getting DCR to cooperate.

DCR Allston-Brighton Riverfront Parks and Parkways

Extremely important for anyone in this district (myself included) to vote Erika Uyterhoeven on September 3rd, and hopefully Decker will lose her primary in the 25th Middlesex.

MBTA Commuter Rail (Operations, Keolis, & Short Term)

I really cannot stand how uncomfortable the seating on the commuter rail is, and their only improvement for seating being “increased spacious seating” tells me it’s going to be the same awful seats and my lower back will be suffering for decades to come.

I have thought the same thing, but then shouldn’t a stop sign be at every portal? Unless it’s because the North Station turn back is just past the portal so there’s potential for traffic or operators on foot so it’s more important the operators eyes adjust in this case. One of those questions...

Regardless, if the stop signs exist to prevent overspeeding on downhills then they should be eliminated with ATC.

They are manually flipping the signal from red to green (white). I don't know why it's necessary, but I'd say it happens ~25% of the time leaving North Station. There is also one in the North Station Portal when going Science Park > North Station. My best guess is that they are to prevent...

Bulfinch Crossing | Congress Street Garage | West End

That would require leadership with a vision and an inclination towards long term planning.

Potential Exelon Mystic Station Redevelopment | Everett

I think this idea would get strong opposition from Everett, since this stadium is viewed as a key element to the entertainment district they’re trying to build.

As big of a failure Baker’s month-long OL shutdown was, without that shutdown do we think OL would be in the same state as RL right now?

Potential Exelon Mystic Station Redevelopment | Everett

Did not realize the discussion my smokestack idea would kick off... Just to clarify I was suggesting that I wanted the stadium with an industrial re-use aesthetic like Battersea Power Station. If that makes the development infeasible then I'd much rather have a bland stadium than nothing.

SAV-MOR Site Lab Building | 15 McGrath Highway | Somerville

Given that the city itself owns one of the biggest abandoned lots at Gilman Square, I don’t have much hope of them addressing vacant properties.

Potential Exelon Mystic Station Redevelopment | Everett

Still holding out hope they keep a smoke stack.

Big difference between a maintenance vehicle derailing in the off-hours and an in-service passenger car derailing. Still not great but probably has more to do with the state of the maintenance vehicle than the tracks.

From the article: I think the reference to the Taxpayer Protection Act is a good sign that the Auditor is targeting the contract management issues and outsourcing issues throughout the T. Station ambassadors is probably an easier place to start than a wholesale audit of something like the GLX...

Does anyone know when the red-shirts contract is up for renewal? Also glad to see DiZoglio auditing the T. The primary reason I supported Chris Dempsey for Auditor was his promise to do the same.

At the very least they could turn trains at East Somerville though right? There is a crossover and a pocket track past the station. Then shuttles would just need to run down McGrath.

North Station, Charles River Draw, & Tower A

Looks like the new North Station bridges will get a pedestrian path after all. https://x.com/dannickx/status/1806332044227555537

I-90 Interchange Improvement Project & West Station | Allston

Yes, given that the state has yet to outline funding for the project a rational MassDOT would cut lanes to reduce cost. Until full funding is secured I don't think it's unreasonable to push for lane reductions to reduce cost.

    MBTA Buses & Infrastructure

Missing the lanes in East Somerville on Broadway from McGrath to Minnesota Ave, just added last year.
