    Biking in Boston

I don't know how effective they are at modifying pedestrian behavior, but I definitely appreciate when the pedestrians stick to the right. If some cheap signs increase the percentage that do so, then I'm all for that.

    The Official MBTA System Map

I don't think the parallel service is for the sake of people going between Ruggles and Jackson Square. It's for the sake of people transferring from another bus and going from there to Dorchester. I suppose it might be worth studying the idea of skipping Jackson, but even if they do that, the...

    Biking in Boston

That's a nice improvement, as is the newish speed warning sign approaching the blind passenger exit at Stony Brook. But the biggest need for the SW Corridor path is to figure out how to make it less appealing to pedestrians. I understand why people walk on the path -- they prefer mixing with...

Greenway Residential Building | 55 India Street | Downtown

I'm good with the height. It is contextual to the other buildings nearby and really, this type of thing makes for a better street wall, even if it doesn't show up in any skyline views.

Oh that's right, you like to argue with strawmen. Nobody has claimed it is super pedestrian friendly or pedestrian oriented. You complained specifically that it wasn't, and some of us have responded (even agreeing, as I did). Because you didn't get the pushback you hoped for, now you are trying...

    Patriot Place | Foxboro

And 13 miles in the other direction on Route1a there is another in Dedham. I guess they are going for one location every 12-13 miles?

Building this proposal or one like it is how we start the path toward modifying the area. The Town won't pre-emptively fix or alter the pedestrian experience when currently there aren't (m)any pedestrians. But drop in some housing, and the conversation will start to change.

It only took ten years. What a frustratingly slow process this is. 🙃

    Biking in Boston

I suspect you won't find any records of meetings. A project in the planning phases can be underway without having reached the public meeting phase. I think that's what is going on here -- they have some plans, they have not yet engaged the public. The question I have, is whether they should go...

    Biking in Boston

According to Mike Connolly, it was already in the works: https://x.com/MikeConnollyMA/status/1840872804956180861

    Biking in Boston

I'm pretty sure this was already in the works. They just didn't get there fast enough, but it's not a case of the decision being made because somebody was killed by a reckless driver.

    The Official MBTA System Map

I love seeing all these maps, and am always impressed by what you guys are able to do. I have a consistent nit pick, though, which is really more a commentary on the MBTA system you have to portray, than it is with the maps themselves. But it seems to me, that any bus corridors with frequent...

MBTA Commuter Rail (Operations, Keolis, & Short Term)

The only important sentence in that article is third from the end: There will be no layover at Beacon Yard. Nobody wants that, including Amtrak. They just want the strongest bargaining position they can obtain. * the article actually brings up one other point, which leaves room for a temporary...

Kindred Hospital Site Redevelopment | 1515 Commonwealth Ave. | Brighton

Yep, was going to point that out, too. And the 2nd highest is Clarendon or Metropolitan Hill (more common use, but Clarendon is correct) in Roslindale. I'm pretty sure there are a few other hills in south western parts of the city that are also higher than the hills in Brighton.

Shreve, Crump & Low Redevelopment | 334-364 Boylston Street | Back Bay

And what used to be there actually wasn't that great. The facade was highly over-rated in my opinion, and the structure itself was cheaply made and poorly maintained.

The new mural looks great, though I really loved the one it replaced.

And let's give that streetcar some priority lanes if not an outright reservation. It would definitely be a great shot in the arm for the area, but also, if done right, it would improve transit along a fairly important corridor. As for the stretch between Albany and the Fairmont Line bridge, I'm...

Quincy Market Update/Renovation | Faneuil Hall Marketplace | Downtown

Ruth Bader Ginsburg used to respond when asked how many women justices on the Supreme Court would be enough, by saying when there were nine. I'll admit that it took me some time to understand her point, which was that the court operated with 9 men on the bench for 200 years. If that was...

    Metropolitan Water Tunnel Program

This is fascinating and very cool. It's interesting how a project like this can happen and basically nobody will even notice. But try to build a transit tunnel and there will be years of controversy and legal fights. I realize water tunnels are much narrower bores and overall less complicated...

Well done, then! I thought this was an official project video and was kind of surprised by the choice. But as your own work, it's fantastic.
