FDR's policies did not help end the depression. If anything, his price/wage fixing made the depression worse. Maybe I'm just bitter because I wanted to be in Adams, and got quadded.

It is flush. My brother works for Shawmut and took me on a tour inside the building site over the Christmas break. I unfortunately broke my camera, and didn't take any pics, but I could probably get some from him, since they document their own progress pretty closely.

The triangular parcel is fenced off - the vendors use the street next to it. This parcel was supposed to have been for a new public market / housing, or at least that's what I heard from a friend on mine who works at the BRA.
