Yeah, I was very confused when I heard what they had to say last night. It's really odd that they're choosing to design the station like this.

The recording of the virtual public meeting from last night was just posted on YouTube. At 48:12 someone asks a question about the short platforms. At 50:30 the question was addressed. I typed out the relevant info:

The meeting is ongoing but it's only in person and not on Zoom so I assume we won't hear anything until after the meeting concludes.

I'm glad that Newtonville is being prioritized due to high ridership. The change to 400' platforms is a surprise to me.

Wow, this would be great for Hopkinton if it gets built. Hopkinton Center is a nice little downtown but it could use more density IMO. I'm glad to see a mixed-use proposal at this spot.

This kind of pettiness is unnecessary and annoying. God forbid someone has an opinion while living somewhere other than Boston Proper or Metro Boston.

It's crazy to me that North Station hasn't seen regularly scheduled C branch service since 2021. It would be great if the C branch ever gets re-extended to North Station.

I'm pretty sure a lot of the expense at Rivers Edge/Edgeworth is because of pricey retaining wall work. Assembly was built at ground level, Rivers Edge would be atop an embankment.

I'd love to see an infill station at Rivers Edge someday, but it would be costly to construct (estimated to cost between $85M and $95M in 2016). My guess is it's too prohibitively expensive without a considerable amount of redevelopment in the area to boost potential ridership.
