I think the above is the best angle of the skyline with the Winthrop Tower. The gap between them allows both MT and WT appear more prominent

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

Thank you, I have not ridden the CTA since the pandemic. That's good to know!

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

I'm confused with chrisbat's original post (seems to be buried a few pages back and I can't find it). I've been to all three cities and ridden on all three's public transits. From my experience, the MTA and CTA has been much more reliable in getting me where I need to go in a timely fashion than...

    General Boston Discussion

An ignominious achievement for Boston. Renting in Boston is one of the biggest scams in the country, given the old stock, the unaffordable new stock, the fact that people can tour your apartment while still living there, the fact that landlords puts it on the previous and new tenants to clean...

    General Boston Discussion

Btw, watched a B1M video yesterday and they noted one thing that can turn the high-rise boom into a bust is the rising fed rate which will in turn make loans much more expensive and harder to attain for development. This, I don't think any city is immune from so if the Fed hikes the rate again...

    NYC Architecture and Development

April fool must have come late this year. Otherwise, my condolences. I look forward to the day that this building gets demolished. This is one of those "just because you can, doesn't mean you should"

    General Boston Discussion

It's robust in the sense that people are able to live where they want to. Want to live in Boston but your company is located in OKC? Well now you can! Want to buy a house in an urban city that you can afford but your company is in SF? Well now you can! Prior to this, growth in a city can be...

    General Boston Discussion

I'm going to disagree with you and say that the demand for programmers is going to continue. We need programmers, developers, analysts, and engineers as Big Data continues to grow and every single business decision is data driven. A business that doesn't utilize data is doomed to lose its...

    General Boston Discussion

Companies are still hiring and fighting over talent and making a profit. People are still employed and salary is still growing but not at the rate of inflation. As such, while inflation is bad, people still have disposable income. From a real estate perspective, remote working has allowed people...

    General Boston Discussion

This isn't a Boston only thing. NYC, Seattle, Los Angeles, SF, Miami are all undergoing major building booms. Arguably, Boston's boom is the smallest of the above list. People are still being hired and being employed. Their salary might not be keeping up with the inflation but there is still...

I don't think that's a half-measure at all. Ban private auto/truck traffic, but allow buses to traverse at a certain speed limit. Denver runs a Mall bus down it's Downtown pedestrian area and it works great.
