General MBTA Topics (Multi Modal, Budget, MassDOT)

there was also the mini-scandal about the no-bidding contract assigned to her former brother-in-law (we really need a better term to describe the divorced spouse of your sibling). Seems like the potential view that this was nepotistic may have not been a good look for a secretary in Governor...

Yeah that Union 346 place is clearing the market with 3k per month per unit on 12 to 15 month leases. Though it looks like the current initial offer is 500 off first months rent.

that whole complex is literally the best thing to have happened to activity in Union Square in the past 10 years. The GLX would be - but - it's been closed about as long as its been open.

Bulfinch Crossing | Congress Street Garage | West End

Reading the article - my impression is that the MBTA is the main limiting factor that lead to the long delays here? Is this just the framing of the journalist influenced by HYM or is there really some truth to that? The Globe's current set of journalists generally seem very aloof to the actual...

New Red and Orange Line Cars

I think LA Metro has recieved its first test pair of CRRC MA cars. Hopefully, this is a sign that they can keep delivering - otherwise - two of the top subway systems in this country are going to be struggling mightly for the next 5-10 years.

North Station, Charles River Draw, & Tower A

I'm not sure that the structures will be shorter - those two images have very different perspectives. Even assuming fairly positively for the future structures, it would appear to eventually be about the same height by roughly estimating for the vanishing points of the renders/photo. That being...

    Biking in Boston

I've noticed that at least at the in person events, the anectdotes about bike safety are really hard to argue against. Someone who's saying 'but it's going to take me 2 minutes longer!!?!" is awfully quiet when you describe being doored by impatient drivers and passengers or the fear that you...

    MBTA Construction Projects

A secondary entrance would be invaluable for the eventual construction of a red-blue connector whatever form it takes. Perhaps it would also allow the T to minimize construction time by letting construction workers occupy more space for their work. I also know some Cambridge waterfront workers...

City Hall Plaza Revamp | Government Center

Yeah this was my thought - prevent adult injuries at night when people have had enough beer to make them think it's a good idea.

    MBTA Construction Projects

I think it's important to state that restricted track doesn't necessarily mean track repairs are needed on every foot of track in the restriction area. Or that the T seems to be seeking to do more than one repair a day.
