Logan Airport Flights and Airlines Discussion

Pic was from the return flight—Japan (and JAL) was amazing—peak cherry blossom season! Loads of photos uploaded to my instagram @bocastonian if anyone’s interested. Also, one more bonus shot from before we left. We won a bid upgrade for JAL business class to Tokyo and got complimentary access...

Logan Airport Flights and Airlines Discussion

Airside at Terminals C & E is looking a lot more colorful! Taken from my JAL flight yesterday evening.

ACC/NU Residence Hall | 840 Columbus Ave | Northeastern University

I'm no design snob, but seeing images of this particular approved building makes me yearn for the day when cornices and ornamentation fall back into fashion.

Commonwealth Pier Revitalization (née Seaport WTC)| 200 Seaport Boulevard | Seaport

Great change! In addition to being a public realm improvement already, this added commercial space definitely lays the ground work for Seaport/MBTA to up its ferry transportation game and have a great hub for ferry passengers to arrive to/depart from.

Bill Russell Bridge | North Washington St.

Thank you for this. This thread was starting to remind me of architectural critiques and sweeping, declarative statements in the mid-2010's getting bent out of shape over the Seaport neighborhood. All I wanted to do then and here was grab a megaphone and remind people: "Simmer down, it isn't...

Encore Boston Harbor Casino | 1 Broadway | Everett

Last I'd heard the project was awaiting some environmental/state reviews before it could be permitted to complete any work beyond site clearing. So that would effectively put in stand-by until further notice.

New England Revolution Stadium | 173 Alford Street | Boston-Everett

If/when the Assembly Station ped bridge extends to Draw 7 Park and meets the landing for proposed Mystic River Pedestrian Bridge, that'll unlock several thousand parking spaces at Assembly Row within 20-minute walk. East of Broadway, currently under review, is proposing 2,000+ parking spaces...

    The New Retail Thread

I'm not going to defend the map/logic; however, assuming the map is referring to Disney World's Magic Kingdom park (i.e. referring to the 'theme park' as the attraction), then the number isn't far off per the latest AECOM Theme Index Report (*which is a fascinating annual read if you've never...

Yes. MassDOT & Boston MPO have prioritized two federal aid projects currently being designed that will make multimodal safety improvements along Route 16 through Everett. Their Project ID’s for reference are 611969 and 613121. The City, MBTA, and State also have other projects that are in...

Franklin Park - White Stadium Renovation

This throws me off a little: why is the Conservancy cool with people paying admission to use the William J. Devine Golf Course & Zoo at Franklin Park 365 days a year, but litigating over a women's soccer team renovating White Stadium at Franklin Park and leasing the space 20 days a year?

    Everett Infill and Small Developments

My eye twitches every time I read an up-liked comment about new developments in metro Boston that are “overpriced,” as if fundamental economics don’t exist. It’s pretty darn foolish to claim nobody can afford to live in new buildings that get 95% leased within 14 months of opening. As an...

    Maxwell | 35 Garvey Street | Everett

I shared this on the Sofia Everett thread a year+ ago... the city has implemented a different scaled grid pattern for the Commercial Triangle. And it is comparable to the block sizes of residential development north of Rt. 16. Rome wasn't built in a day folks, although if Everett's Planning...

    Post-Covid Travel Patterns and Solutions

If I ever want to know such things, then I reach out to the regional planning agency staff for the respective region(s) I’m looking to find it. They staff the MPO and perform the transportation research you’re speaking of, for all modes.

ACC/NU Residence Hall | 840 Columbus Ave | Northeastern University

A large format, full service restaurant and bar. Friends of mine operate a boardgame cafe and bar that I think conceptually would be a slam dunk here.

Seaport Neighborhood - Infill and Discussion

You really think there's nowhere else in the city that could host a winter market?! I think when the construction dust settles on SeaPAC and WTC by next Christmas, the Seaport alone will have the Harbor Way pedestrian mall/park and WTC food hall courtyard/harborwalk reopening that could...

New England Revolution Stadium | 173 Alford Street | Boston-Everett

Chelsea and Everett jointly applied for a $50M Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) Grant through FEMA for the expressed purpose of improving coastal resiliency along their waterfront. Developers coming to the table in Everett (i.e. Revs, Davis Co., Wynn) have been tasked...
