I-90 Interchange Improvement Project & West Station | Allston

Eh, there's elevations in the document. It does look a bit deceptive in the render though. I've been to a few meetings on this and the Beacon Yards project. The 'big deal' is that for the low low price of about 4 feet of river in one spot, the state saves tens of millions of dollars, loses a...

The 'Unchoke the Throat' meeting slides are out and contains a good deal of information on the current proposals for the throat and West Station. Contrasts their plan vs. the current DOT plan nicely.

Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

Don't tell the Red Sox, but there's a building going up that's ruining their historic view. From last night's game. This actually got me thinking about the crane. Last night, the crane was a solid blue/red stripe up the side of the building, without doing any of its LSD-trip color...

I've been to a few of the community meetings, and the traffic engineers insist that this is needed for all the traffic going on and off the Pike at rush hour. But yes, this is going to be a new neighborhood criss-crossed by roads as large as Melnea Cass or Seaport Boulevards.

Popping up over the Sheraton from a 5th floor window in the MIT area (dome is in the foreground right). Taken 2/12/2018.

Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

I work across the Charles in the MIT area, so it just pokes out over the Sheraton. It noticeably stalled after it broke the Sheraton roofline, but in the last month it's really moving. I'm definitely on board with the floor per week quote they said near the beginning.

    Allston-Brighton Infill and Small Developments

BLDUP has some new photos on their website and FLICKR of the Allston Square development. This is the highway overpass/Regina Pizza area of Cambridge St. Looks bigger than I thought: 353 units (apts/condos) split between 6 different buildings (but it looks like it's really 5) 189 parking spaces...

I was staying at the Sheraton last night for a bachelor party - 26th floor view. The window makes the images a little wonky.

I was at the game yesterday - row 10, center field. Pretty much the final look from the ballpark with the exterior almost done.

Boston Landing | New Balance Complex | Brighton

Horrible picture, but you can actually see the new building looking up the Charles from Harvard Bridge. Extends the skyline from this angle at least!

This was posted in the Boston subreddit the other day by a contractor that works on site. Quite the view from the top!

I-90 Interchange Improvement Project & West Station | Allston

I believe this has to do with the Grand Junction railroad line going into Cambridge at the BU Bridge. It crosses under the I-90 viaduct/over Soldier's Field Road. If SFR is under the viaduct I don't think it could cross to the north side. Kind of a shame actually, because this would be pretty smart.

I-90 Interchange Improvement Project & West Station | Allston

I was there at the meeting 2 weeks ago, so perhaps I'll write some notes that weren't immediately obvious from the slides: - There was a lot of discussion around the size of the new streets. If you look carefully, nearly all of the intersections are between two 6+ lane roads. The traffic...

The Lucas | 136 Shawmut Ave | South End

Great pictures BeeLine... The south facing apartments with church windows all have doors present. These aren't in the renderings on Page 1. Does anyone know if these are just Juliet balconies? Or are they really going to put in small balconies jutting out the church window?!

Re: Site in Hub top choice for a soccer stadium For what it's worth, Kraft paid $175 million for the Patriots in 1994. According to his own words, this was a good $50 million over the top price he told his wife he would spend in negotiations. He had spent the last two decades assembling land...
