Back Bay Garage Tower | Dartmouth and Stuart | Back Bay

That would require people working in offices, which they no longer do.

I-90 Interchange Improvement Project & West Station | Allston

So you're saying that this will be a bunch of new buildings that by dint of being new will be expensive. Yeah. So was the Back Bay. So was the South End. New stuff is more expensive unless you're building public housing. Also, you can fit more housing in mid-rises than triple-deckers.

I-90 Interchange Improvement Project & West Station | Allston

Or just "Allston". Boston has a "West Station" that serves a similar purpose to North Station and South Station. It's called Back Bay.

Kendall Common Parcel C1 (née Volpe Center) | 25 Broadway | Kendall Square | Cambridge

The two buildings they've detailed so far strayed massively from the placeholders. I wouldn't take R1 too seriously until they actually propose the design.

    Green Line Type 10 Procurement

They did mention commonality. It's possible other systems with the Urbos don't have large heavy rail fleets. North American deployments were in Calgary, Cincinnati, KC, and Seattle, none of which have metro-style vehicles. What a pleasure it is to look up an MBTA vehicle model and see a long...

Back Bay Garage Tower | Dartmouth and Stuart | Back Bay

Heck, just sell the design to BXP and build it across the street...

    Green Line Type 10 Procurement

Is there a statement that that's where they'd be used first? I'd assume it would be on D since E doesn't have long enough platforms to start.

    Green Line Type 10 Procurement

Call it a throwback to the yellow doors on the initial PCC livery... Also, of all the destinations you could have chosen for the render, you chose "Reservoir Yard"? This is displayed as a D Branch train, which means the T is implying a suspension of service beyond Reservoir for track repairs...

    Newton Infill and Small Developments

Not sure if it's this one, but yeah, Newton has cleared the threshold now. https://www.newtonbeacon.org/mayor-says-newton-on-track-for-safe-harbor-status-in-2024/ Dunstan East probably did it, since there are cores rising there now.

Bill Russell Bridge | North Washington St.

Wouldn't that be just as bad? Plenty of delays there too. In any case, this one's a fait accompli. I'd rather be naming infrastructure after non-political figures (though certainly after activists) and David Ortiz got screwed - his bridge will hopefully one day cease to be a bridge. At least he...

Bulfinch Crossing | Congress Street Garage | West End

Remember that HYM is also trying to keep Suffolk Downs going... I wouldn't be surprised if they're just trying to hold out for lower interest rates.

Mayor Wu Appoints Second Chief of Planning

At least he'll be in place for the downswing portion of the development cycle. I think the iconic buildings are kind of petering out regardless. Nonetheless, this is like forming the New Galactic Republic and electing Palpatine Chancellor...

    1280-1330 Boylston Street, Brookline

This might actually be a good application for a gerbil tube, either free-standing or landing in the cinema, Container Store, or some other building in The Street. It will never happen since the two sides are owned by different people, but it would remove the only friction from this site to the...

    119 Braintree Street | Allston

That's... substantially better. When was the last time that happened to a project in VE?

    1280-1330 Boylston Street, Brookline

Just jumping into this now... does anyone have any thoughts about the actual proposal? ;) I'd guess about half this height is sacrificial, since this would be over 200' and this part of Brookline would sooner give up their membership to The Country Club than allow that to happen. I'm concerned...

North Station Gateway | 251 Causeway St | Bulfinch Triangle

I was thinking the same thing, but with the position in the skyline of One Rincon Hill.

North Station Gateway | 251 Causeway St | Bulfinch Triangle

The North End neighbors would say "if a city can't maintain the sanctity of a beautifully-preserved urban neighborhood dating back 300 years, it has a ways to go as a city... build this over in the West End or Back Bay where towers belong."

North Station Gateway | 251 Causeway St | Bulfinch Triangle

PNF: https://bpda.app.box.com/s/ct0mqxzmqnl4op593n562adr5urnop89 This now has a name: "North Station Gateway Project". It's a shame this will never get built, because it looks really nice. Since someone brought up earlier the fact that the BPD has the wrong neighborhood assigned to this, I'd...

Red Line Extension to Arlington Heights

The issue is the tunneling. Arlington's density in these areas isn't dissimilar from Newton, Brookline, or Milton, but those areas don't even have heavy rail, much less tunneled heavy rail.
