MassDOT Rail: Springfield Hub (East-West, NNERI, Berkshires, CT-Valley-VT-Quebec)

The MBTA is the operator of one of the largest EMU fleets in North America. It's called the Red, Orange and Blue Lines.

MassDOT Rail: Springfield Hub (East-West, NNERI, Berkshires, CT-Valley-VT-Quebec)

It is by no means EMU ready. This is a conventional, diesel push-pull repair facility that will be obsolete within 10-12 years of being built. The T wants to spend $4B on status quo projects to continue diesel ops and nothing on EMUs. If they had started planning when the FMCB told them to...

Fall River/New Bedford Commuter Rail (South Coast Rail)

I don't think that there will be any additional trains, it's just that that some Middleborough trains will travel through.

MassDOT Rail: Springfield Hub (East-West, NNERI, Berkshires, CT-Valley-VT-Quebec)

General MBTA Topics (Multi Modal, Budget, MassDOT)

I believe that only Canton Jct inwards would have 8 tph and Readville inwards is triple tracked. Amtrak very rarely has more than one train on that section at a time. If Needham is converted to OL, then 8 or even 12tph should be well within the capacity of the NEC

General MBTA Topics (Multi Modal, Budget, MassDOT)

I can understand the frustration of politicians at the fact that nearly 4 years have passed without any significant action by the T.

    Commuter Rail to New Hampshire?

I would set Holyoke as the goal. About $5M in today's dollars

    Commuter Rail to New Hampshire?

That's true enough. If Nashua is the terminal, you're looking at 30M for ASCES
