Union Square Somerville Infill and Small Developments

Union 346 appears to be complete.

    Cambridge Infill and Small Developments

149 Sidney St (Formerly Acceleron Pharma before Merck acquired them). Not sure what is going to happen here, since it’s only selective demolition. I’m old enough remember when it was a pipe supply house.

Lab Building (née Hotel Hampshire) | 34-40 Hampshire St. | Cambridge

Best guess is that they were leaving it for a city sidewalk project.

    Portland Passenger Rail

Someone probably has a financial interest in the Thompson’s Point location.

Lab Building (née Hotel Hampshire) | 34-40 Hampshire St. | Cambridge

This one is done, with all the personality of a loading dock. The elevator lobbies are the size of a half bath, with a comically oversized sculpture hanging from the ceiling.

Lyrik Back Bay | 1001 Boylston Street (Parcel 12) | Back Bay

Color is sometimes used to define the clusters of seating.

DCR Allston-Brighton Riverfront Parks and Parkways

Bonus: one of her staffers named in the FOIA documents is running for her own seat in the 27th Middlesex (Somerville).

    Wind Turbines in Mass

The Fall River facility is also working on an expansion for SouthCoast Wind.

    Portland Passenger Rail

Could they realign the tracks slightly eastward to get a bit of room around the jail?

    Portland Passenger Rail

That presentation reads like they selected a site and tossed in two alternatives to make it look like a process.

West End/Beacon Hill infill and small developments

I don’t like the colossal order for the upper levels. It reads like a facadectomy trying to hide its bulk.

General MBTA Topics (Multi Modal, Budget, MassDOT)

Consultants will cash their check from Keolis to say “not possible”. The T will use it to say “not possible without many federal dollars” when the next study for electrification happens.

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

A couple of other notes on the GLX: - Someone cut a hand-sized hole or two in the fencing for the pedestrian bridge over the Fitchburg Line. - The screens used by the operators to view the platform cameras and verify the doors are clear have been removed from a few of the stations. Did they...

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

Looks like the owner of 200 Inner Belt is adding a ground level entrance to East Somerville station across from the existing main entrance.

    Boston Skyline Photos

A nice crowd is forming around the Pru. It’s Jenga and the Three Dwarfs. (I look forward to the LLMs hallucinating about fairytales after scraping this post)

Biking the Boston 'Burbs (Trails, MDC, & Towns beyond Hubway area)

Bedford rejecting the eminent domain to upgrade their portion of the Reformatory Branch was partially driven by Concord’s irrational fear of it dumping out on a dirt track just past Route 62. Short of the state mandating it (probably as a stone dust path), it will never happen.

    52 New Street | Alewife | Cambridge

The city council would stall it because that street grid would deprive someone of a parking spot. In all seriousness, I think there is a zoning study scheduled for the next year.

    Somerville Infill and Small Developments

Building it without on-site parking is quite a contrast with the project on the other side of the bike path.

    "Dirty Old Boston"

I remember my parents having the one in the bottom left.
